The closed network test for Tekken 8 has been announced in Bandai Namco’s latest video. The video gives us a glimpse of many characters that have been previously revealed to be a part of the upcoming game’s roaster. It ends with the reveal of Claudio Serafino, a returning character from Tekken 7.
The closed network test for Tekken 8 was recently leaked via SteamDB and Bandai Namco has now officially announced that the test will begin on July 21. We see many previously seen characters, such as Bryan Fury, Hwoarang, and Leroy Smith. Claudio Serafino’s return was officially revealed in this video, with the character summoning a ring of celestial light around him.
Claudio made his first appearance in Tekken 7, where he was described as the World’s Strongest Exorcist. He is the leader of the Archers of Sirius, an Italian secret society of exorcists. Claudio gained popularity amongst the players of the game owing to his ability to summon his own brand of magic, dealing extensive damage in mid-range. His suave and at times cocky attitude towards his opponents was a cherry on top. The character played an important role in the storyline of Tekken 7 and many gamers had previously predicted that he will be making a return in Tekken 8 as well.
Claudio’s appearance in Tekken 8 seems pretty similar to his look in the previous installment, complete with his all-white suit and white hand gloves, along with sleek blue hair. The announcement video showcases various other fighters, particularly those that have already been revealed before. Although we can’t see Claudio in action in this video, as he only makes a brief appearance towards the end and recants his popular intro.
Registrations for the Tekken 8’s closed network test are now open. Players on PS5 will be able to play the test build from July 21 to July 24, while Xbox and PC (Steam) gamers will be able to access it from July 28 to July 31.
