Be it good or bad, a lot of the missions in Starfield play out according to the decisions you make. One of the lighter hearted quests in the game is definitely the Starfield Alternating Currents Choice. After collecting some information regarding New Atlantis’s power problem, the Alternating Currents side mission gives you a choice to hand over data to either Louisa Reyez or Zoe Kaminski.
Although none of the choices affect the progress of your main storyline, deciding between Louisa or Zoe might be quite an ordeal. Here’s everything you should know to make that decision a little easier.
How To Complete The Starfield Alternating Currents Quest
Make sure you have completed the Tapping the Grid quest and investigated The Well in New Atlantis. Then head on over to Louisa’s office to talk, and the Starfield Alternating Currents choice quest will start automatically.
Louisa will explain that the brownouts have something to do with the Trade Authority and ask you to accompany her. There, you will find Zoe Kaminski, who will co-operate with the power out investigations. The two ladies will send you off to find a couple of circuit breakers. Before that, remember to have some digipicks and a jump boostpack equipped for some extra help.
Finding Junction Boxes
Set Alternating Currents as your active mission and head on over to the first junction box marked by a blue ping. It will be all the way upstairs from the med bay. You can also use your Scanner to lead you to the junction box.
After activating it, Louisa and Zoe will fight over choosing Junction Box 45A or 47B. Both yield the same results so just choose whichever is closer.
Now you need to head over to the Residential District and locate the Junction Box outside Athena Tower. This will end the junction box hunt and you will finally get your hands on the evidence regarding this power out problem.
While heading over to Athena Tower, Zoe will offer money in exchange for the evidence being handed to her.

Finding Evidence
To find the evidence, take the Athena Tower elevator to the luxury apartment. The apartment door will be locked and can only be unlocked by a digipick. Inside the apartment, you will be prompted to download files once you turn on an unauthorized computer. Turns out the perpetrator is stealing credits from the GalBank. Now all you need to do is hand over this critical information.
There is also an Oliver Twist book in the apartment up for grabs. This will trigger the activity ‘Visit the London Landmark on Earth’.
Starfield Alternating Currents Choice
You have to make a choice between handing the evidence over to Louisa Reyez or Zoe Kaminski.
Choosing Louisa
Choosing Louisa, she will thank you for the decision and assure you that the information will be delivered to the MAST as soon as possible. She will also inform of her awareness regarding Zoe’s offer, and this will conclude the mission.
You will be rewarded 2000 Credits and 82 xp for this.
Choosing Zoe
If you choose Zoe, she will be delighted by your decision and assure you that she will share some information with the MAST as soon as possible. The Trade Authority will also be thankful to you according to Zoe.
Similar to the Louisa choice, you will be rewarded 2000 Credits, and 82 xp for this.
Basically, you will get the same number of Credits and xp regardless of whichever option you choose. So might as well choose the character you had the most fun talking to during the Starfield Alternating Currents choice mission.
