If you want to unlock major upgrades for your ship modules in Helldivers 2, you will need to spend lots of Samples. This lucrative currency can either be common or rare depending on the mission difficulty. But regardless of the type, Samples can be quite hard to find.

How To Get Samples In Helldivers 2
Samples can be acquired from Eradication missions, Search and Destroy missions, POIs, and from Sealed Containers or weapon caches hidden in the game’s map. The mission difficulty will determine whether you get Common Samples or Rare Samples.
Super Samples can be collected after blowing up Spore Towers in the game. Just head to the Radar icon on the map and blow up the tower using a rocket to get the samples.

Eradication Missions
One of the best farming spots for Samples, the Eradication Missions start you off in a small area where you will need to defend yourself. Take this chance to search around and collect as many samples as you can.
The only downside to these missions is that they appear randomly. Keep an eye out for them to pop up on any available planet nearby.
Tip: Make sure to let your party know to collect your dropped Samples if you ever go down while doing a mission together. Otherwise, there is a high chance of losing those precious dropped Samples.
Search and Destroy Missions
Another quick mission for collecting Samples is the Blitz: Search and Destroy. You will need your Supply Pack and a Grenade Launcher to fight the bug infestations in the area. Just search around the area to find samples, destroy the terminal holes spawning bugs, and move on with the mission.
This short 12-minute quest will be a piece of cake if you can get used to the grenade launcher and find the perfect trajectory to throw them into the bug nests.

Points of Interests
Points of Interest like research bases, frontier homes, crash sites, and enemy bases all have a few Samples to collect. These POIs are usually marked with a “?” on the Helldivers 2 map, so, all you have to do is seek out those locations and search them thoroughly.
Automation Factories, Bug Nests, Rogue Labs, etc. also have a chance of common and rare sample drops.
Sealed Containers
Sealed containers and caches are scattered throughout the Helldivers 2 map. Simply break them open to collect what’s inside. If you’re lucky, you might get some common and rare samples for upgrades.
