The sequel to the popular comedy shooter, which is set to release on February 13, 2026, will also have a new story, a bigger cast, and even some surprise movies for players to watch. The game’s developers, Squanch Games chief creative officer Mikey Spano and chief operating officer Matty Studivan, talked with IGN at gamescom 2025 about how they’re raising the bar for the upcoming title.
The original High on Life was known for including a few full-length movies that players could watch, but it looks like the sequel is taking things a step further. While there will still be what Spano called “B+ tier movies,” the real fun comes from the fully-emulated video games tucked away in the game. When asked which titles would be included, Spano said that Bible Adventures was the first game that came up.
Bible Adventures Is Coming to High on Life

Yes, you can play the whole thing, and he promised it won’t be the only emulated game that’s in there. In a gameplay demo shown at Gamescom, it was revealed that players would at some point meet Senator Muppy Doo, who shrinks down and invades the player’s in-game menu, where you can find the only legal way to play Bible Adventures in 2025.

Spano didn’t say how many games would be available in the game or which ones they are, but he did promise that there would be “more than five.” This is great news for fans of the first game, as it shows that the developers are really listening to what made the first game so popular. The quirky humor and the bizarre easter eggs are what made the game a massive success, and it looks like the sequel will be no different.
The original game’s movies were a fun little bonus, but the addition of playable games is a huge step up. It’s not every day that a game includes other full-length games to play inside of it.
For those who may not be familiar with Bible Adventures, it’s an infamous video game that was released for the NES in 1991. The game, which was developed and published by Wisdom Tree, is a platformer that follows three stories from the Bible: Noah’s Ark, Baby Moses, and David and Goliath.

It was a well-known title for being unlicensed by Nintendo, meaning it could not be sold in most stores. However, the game was still a commercial success, selling over 350,000 copies. The game has since become a cult classic for its bizarre gameplay and a fun novelty for video game enthusiasts.
High on Life Is Coming With Many Games

The fact that Squanch Games got the official license to include Bible Adventures in High on Life 2 is a testament to the studio’s dedication to creating a truly unique and memorable experience. It’s not every day that a company goes out of its way to get the rights to a bizarre, 30-year-old video game just to include it as a fun little easter egg. The team even went so far as to include Richard Kind’s Senator Muppy Doo, which is just another example of how much detail the developers are putting into the game.
It’s clear that the developers are really trying to make a game that’s even better than the first one. The inclusion of more games, a bigger cast, and a new story all point to a game that’s going to be a must-buy for fans of the original. We’ll have to wait until February 13, 2026, to find out which other games and movies will be included in the game, but with Bible Adventures being the first one announced, there’s no telling what else lies in store.
