The Contact quest in RuneScape Dragon Wilds has us following multiple objectives, all tied to specific spots on the map. Most of the quest revolves around tracking down a spot to get a special item out of it. It can get confusing to keep track of everything that happens in the Contact quest, so here we will break down all the steps to complete the Contact quest in RuneScape Dragon Wilds.
How to start the Contact Quest in RuneScape Dragon Wilds
You will find the hive north of Dunes of Uzzer, located northeast of the main camp on the map. Get to this area, and you will come across a giant circular crystal, named Avisk Crystal. Talk to the Avisk Crystal to start the Contact quest in your game. The first objective is to find Vault Guardian Prime in the Kalphite Hive.
Now talk to the Vault Guardian Prime in the Kalphite Hive, marked on the map in the image above. The route behind him is locked with a magic barrier; the only way to lift the barrier is by handing over the Crystal Helix Fragments. You guessed it, our next task is to find and obtain 3 missing Vault Guardians and recover their Crystal Helix Fragments.
Location Details for All Vault Guardians on Map
All locations for the Vault Guardians take place in the same area of interest; all of them can be found north of Dunes of Uzzer. There are no special puzzles or riddles attached to each Vault Guardian; just walk up to the place, and you will find them in the spot, defeated or submerged into the ground.
Vault Guardian #1
The first Vault Guardian is located inside the Kalphite Hive, the same hive where we had a conversation with Vault Guardian Prime.
Head across the Vault Guardian Prime, through the narrow route, make your way to the end of the road, and you will reach a dead end. Here, you will find the Vault Guardian on the left of the cave. Broken, lying on the ground. Interact to obtain the Crystal Helix Fragment.
Vault Guardian #2
Now leave the Kalphite Hive and start moving northwest. I’ve marked the spot on the image above. Once you get here, you will find the second Vault Guardian lying amongst the Kalphite Eggs.
New Objective
Here, we will get a new objective, asking us to follow the footsteps in the sand to find who made them. Follow the footsteps outside the Kalphite Hive, and it will lead you to Zanik, located northeast of Kalphite Mine. Talk to him to get the second Crystal Helix Fragment. You don’t have to follow the footsteps if you know where to go, so I’ve marked the spot of Zanik on the map to help you find him easily without having to follow the footsteps.
Vault Guardian #3
The last Vault Guardian is located west of Kalphite Hive. You will find the guardian submerged in the ground inside the ruins. When you interact with the Vault Guardian, you will be asked to insert 4 Vault Shards into the core. Do it to get the final Crystal Helix Fragment.
Now make your way back to the Vault Guardian Prime, and hand over the Crystal Helix Fragments. And you will get Crystal helix to pass through the invisible magical barrier in the Kalphite Hive, behind the Vault Prime Guardian. In this room, you will find Zanic along with four small Avisk Crystals in the middle of the room. First, talk to Zanic and then break all four crystals in the room, and then again strike up a conversation with Zanic to complete the Contact and unlock the visage for Masterwork Pharaoh’s Sceptre.
