Since we are in a desert, it would be fitting to ride around with a Magic Carpet, living our Aladdin dream. And in RuneScape Dragon Wilds, you can unlock a fancy Magic Carpet for you to travel around the game without touching the dusty ground. Here in this guide, we will help you step by step on how you can unlock the Magic Carpet Mount in RuneScape Dragon Wilds.
Location Detail for All Side Quests for the Icthlarin’s Little Helper
You unlock the Magic Carpet in RuneScape Dragon Wilds by completing the Icthlarin’s Little Helper main quest. This is our first main quest in the game, and to trigger this you will have to complete three distinct side quests from three different NPCs (Marked spot on the image above). Here are the details of the three side quests and where you can get them:
- The Mirror Crack’d side quest
- Rogue Trader side quest
- Rag and Bone Garou side quest
Completing the side quests will also unlock new merchants for us; all the side quest NPCs will open up their stores for us to browse through.
The Mirror Crack’d Side Quest
Talk to Valas – The Blacksmith to trigger the first side quest, ‘The Mirror Crack’d’.
Objective: We just need to gather three Adamant Bars.
You will need Coal and Adamant Ore to craft a single bar via using the Blast Furnace. Adamant Ore can be found in Alcarrid Oasis, while Coal can be found in Coal Deposits around the map. Once you have 3x Adamant Bars, return to Valas to complete the side quest.
Rogue Trader Side Quest
Talk to Dmori – The Merchant to start the second side quest,’ Rogue Trader‘.
Objective: Here, you need to gather three Moonstones
Take your pickaxe and start mining Gypsum Nodes to get Moonstones. The merchant will tell you to farm the Moonstones north of Alcarrid Oasis. Every node in the game drops a gem after mining it, but the chances of the gem dropping are very low.
Note: If you walk up to a common Gypsum Node far away from the target area, mining them may drop a gem, in this case, Moonstone. But the chances are very rare. The quest requires getting 3x moonstones, and the best place to gather them is by mining them from the quest-given spot.
After getting three Moonstones, head back to the Dmori, the merchant, to complete the quest. He will start selling exclusive items that will help you unlock a brand new armor, the Infinity Robe Set, in the game.
Rag and Bone Garou Side Quest
Speak to Lagra – The Butcher to begin the final side quest, ‘Rag and Bone Garou’.
Objective: We will need to obtain three pieces of Raw Farm Meat, Kalphite Shell Fragments, and Cactus Steaks.
- Raw Farm Meat: Just kill any mountain goats to receive Raw Farm Meat x3. Slaughtering a single goat will give us 2x Raw Farm Meat.
- Kalphite Shell Fragments: Just defeat any Kalphite Soldier, green-colored bugs in the desert, and you will get these fragments as a drop item.
- Cactus Steaks: Look for Bunny Cactus around the map; they are very unique compared to a common cactus. As they are named, you will see two cactus pads coming out of the single main branch like rabbit ears. They are in a “Y” shape and smaller compared to the rest. Now chop them with the axe to grab Cactus Steaks. A single Bunny Cactus will yield 3x Cactus Steaks.
Note: You will need an Adamant Logging Axe for this one. To craft one, head over to Blacksmith’s Bench and add Adamant Bar x8 + Maple Woods x6 + Desert Thread x4. Desert Thread can be crafted from Desert Weed via the Spinning Wheel. Look out for Desert Weed flower plants in the Umbral Sands region, and you can get Desert Weed out of them.
That’s it, now head over to Lagra, the Butcher, to complete the side quest.
Now that you have completed all three side quests, it will unlock the reward, the Carpet Mount. You can access the carpet by heading over to the menu, then Spell Book> Mounts> equip Magic Carpet. Now press the Alt key on your keyboard to bring your Magic Carpet, and press Alt again to dismount from the carpet. While you are here, why not take on another quest?
