When you are exploring the Big Walk, you will soon realize how absolutely big the world of Big Walk really is and the sheer number of activities you are allowed to do in this game. Luckily, the game offers a map both in a paper and a physical 3D rendition (among other items in Big Walk) that you can use to find a room in the game. The room with the 3D view of the map is hidden behind a locked door on the island. Here we will take a look at how to find the map in Big Walk.
Map Location in Big Walk
To unlock the map, you must obtain a key locked at the red tower at the start of the island. The key is locked behind a machine, which requires five red objects. These red objects are found by completing various puzzles in the game. Here are the tasks we must carry out to unlock the map:
- #1 | Complete puzzles and recover the puzzle reward (Red Objects x5)
- #2 | Grab the Key from Red Tower
- #3 | Follow the machines to the Map Room.
#1 | Complete puzzles and recover the puzzle reward
Every time you complete a puzzle in the Big Walk, you will get a pear-shaped red object as a reward, as seen in the image above. The game has many puzzles marked by their distinctive locations on the island. I would advise you just to explore the island, and you are going to find various interesting landmarks. Every one of these landmarks has puzzles that offer the red object we need as a reward. So make sure to collect 5 red objects, nothing more, nothing less.
#2 | Grab the Key from Red Tower
Now we need to head to the red tower that can be seen from a distance. You can’t miss it, since the tower is huge and does stick out like a sore thumb on the island, as seen in the image above. It sits at the top of the cliff. Head inside the tower and make your way to the rooftops. Here you will find a machine with empty slots and a button inside the glass.
First, place all the red objects inside the slots and press the button to activate. Repeat the process five times for all five red objects we gathered from the world. Push all the buttons, and you will see the key tied to the machine eject. Now we have the key; all we need to do is get to the map location.
One thing you will notice is that the key is in an unusual shape; while it does look like a key, the shape of the key looks normal without any of the key design. Now we shape the key into a particular shape that can unlock the map room.
#3 | Follow the machines to the Map Room
Head down the red tower, and you will see a small machine with a key-shaped hole in the middle, as seen in the image above. Insert the key, and the machine will start cutting the key into a particular shape. Once it’s done, the top of the machine will have a directional arrow pointing to another machine with the same purpose.
Now just follow the directional arrows on the top of the machines, and it will lead you to a blue doorway. Here you will find the last machine. Head inside the blue doorway, and you will find a giant slot for a key. Insert the key, and inside you will find the giant map.
In the room, you will find a physical 3D rendering of the actual map and a paper map that you can carry with you. Each one has its purpose; the big one can help you track down the puzzle completion on the map, while the small one can help you all around, since you can carry it anywhere on the island. But do note that the small map will take up space in your inventory.
