Aion 2 offers a lot more than basic exploration and quests to battle bosses. You can take some time off and participate in fun events with your friends to gain new cosmetic items and gear. The Shugo Festival brings several new minigames to participate in and earn some fabulous rewards. If enhancing the look of your character or obtaining new specialised gear was something that was on your radar for a while, then you should explore your options during this particular event.
The minigames for the event are easy to follow, but without the right tips and tricks, you could easily fall to the bottom of the leaderboard. This guide will detail all the games available for the Shugo Festival, the best ways to play them, and how to claim special keys to unlock more rewards.
How to Unlock the Shugo Festival in Aion 2

The Shugo Festival in Aion 2 can be unlocked very early in the game, right after unlocking pets. You don’t need to be very high level to participate in it either, as you can quickly jump in and start earning rewards. The festival offers various mini-games to play, and at the end of them, you can pick reward cards. Your rewards will vary depending on your score for that particular game, so the higher the score, the more rewards you can claim.
Shugo events will occur every 1 hour. You can click on the Shugo tab in the menu to find out whether the event is currently active or not. You can also check the timings for the next event slot at the top of the screen. This is a multiplayer event, so you will be paired with other players during this time.
All Shugo Festival Events Explained
There are 9 different activities you can pick up while completing the Shugo Festival in Aion 2. Let’s take a closer look at the best way to complete them all.
Jump Jump

You and 3 other players will be put inside a square pit. The instructions are to collect the Odyle Orbs that appear around the arena and to avoid touching the lasers. There is a time limit of 3 minutes before the game ends. My tactic to win this is to focus on collecting as many orbs as possible before you reach the halfway time. The later into the game you go, the harder it will be to avoid the lasers. Plus, if you get hit, you will lose points. The winner will be the player who collects the most orbs and scores the highest.
Wraith Evasion
Similar to the Jump Jump game, you need to evade Wraiths while collecting Odyle Orbs. If you get caught by a Wraith, you turn into one too. You can’t collect any orbs this way, and the only way to turn back is to turn someone else into a Wraith. You have a time limit of 5 minutes, and you are pitted against 5 other players. I would also suggest collecting the golden Mysterious Cubes along with the Odyle Orbs to improve your score, but avoid the dark midnight-blue orbs as these will slow you down.
Mysterious Track

You will be paired alongside your pet against 7 other players to race across a track. You have 5 minutes to finish the race track. This game is quite simple, so a few tips I could give you are to pay attention to the arrows on the floor and go for the blue boosting arrows. These will give you extra speed boosts, unlike the orange arrows that will push you back. I also recommend picking up the blue orbs for extra speed boosts, but you can also get the green orbs for extra HP too. Finally, avoid any typhoons in your path.
Hidden Lugi

You get to compete against 8 other players, and only one of you will turn into a Shugo while others become Lugis. As a Lugi, you need to blend with your environment and act as a normal Lugi while working on collecting Odyle Orbs secretly. As a Shugo, you need to spot the fake Lugi and call them out. Fake Lugis can jump and run, which normal Lugis can’t do. If a Shugo catches a fake Lugi, they will earn double the points and get ahead. Shugos can survey their surroundings to spot the fake Lugi.
Odyle Flight Frenzy

You have 3 and a half minutes to compete with 7 other players to collect the most Odyle Orbs. You need to use your wings here and stay afloat while collecting all the orbs in the sky. I suggest picking a spot where you find several orbs and continuing to collect them until your stamina runs out. Then go in and out of the glowing hoops in the sky to recharge. The orbs will respawn after a while, so staying in one spot is recommended.
Goldrin’s Treasure

You and 7 other players will have almost 4 minutes to find as many treasure chests as you can. Some chests will emit light beams to signal their location. You can either race to unlock it first or use ranged attacks to destroy the beam before anyone else sees it. I suggest flying overhead to spot all the chests before the timer runs out.
Defend Shugo Merchants
You and 7 other players have 5 minutes to fight waves of enemies while protecting the Shugo Merchants. My suggestion here is to deal with the destructible enemies first, like cannons and Insectoids. Let the higher-level players deal with the tougher enemies while lower-level players stand in the defense and protect the Shugo Merchants. Use the Petrification Chest whenever possible to stun enemies, but these won’t work against Insectoids, so keep that in mind while using it.
Up! Up! Up!

For this game, you get 5 minutes to compete with 7 other players to reach the highest point on the map. Everyone will be turned into a Gravi for this. I suggest not wasting a lot of time jumping to the next platform and rather gliding further away. Avoid the red orbs while gliding so you don’t lose points. The higher you go, the more points you will score.
Not This Tile?

The time limit for this game is 3:15, and the 6 of you need to memorize the colors on the tiles in the correct order of appearance. All you need to do is pick the correct tiles within 8 rounds. The more tiles you pick correctly, the higher your score. You will also find orbs appearing around the arena that you need to collect.
My strategy here is to coordinate with other players on the field and see who is willing to work with you. One player will be assigned to pick up all the orbs, while the other players will memorize the correct tiles. All you need to do is stand on the tiles for 8 rounds and get your rewards at the end. Everyone will score exactly the same, except for the orb picker, who might score higher.
How to Claim Shugo Festival Rewards
The main purpose of participating in the Shugo Festival mini games in Aion 2 is to get the Shugo Festival rewards. But you will require special keys to unlock the rewards shown on the event’s main page. If you visit the Shugo Festival page and check the bottom-right section of the screen after selecting a minigame, you will find a list of rewards that range from limited time gear, cosmetics, currencies, and crafting materials.
Getting Shugo Festival Keys

You will also find text below that says Shugo Festival Reward Key, displaying the number of keys you currently own. To obtain these keys, there are two different ways. The easiest method is to purchase a membership using real money. This will give you 21 keys from the get-go. The second method is to wait for the daily chances to appear each day to give you 3 keys. During reset time, you will gain an additional 3 keys, and this can stack up to 12 times.
Picking the Rewards

After obtaining these keys, you can use them to claim your rewards at the end of the minigame. Once you get to the rewards page at the end, you will find 5 cards waiting to be picked. Depending on your score, you will get a notice on top with the number of cards you can pick from the lot.
The higher the score, the more cards you can pick, thus increasing your chances of getting unique rewards. What you need to keep an eye out for are Centuryroot Tokens, as these can be used at the event store to purchase unique and limited-time items.
