Sandfall Interactive’s Clair Obscur Expedition 33 promises to take us through the tale of brave heroes who hope to stop the malevolent Paintress from destroying Lumiere. Early previews of the game look promising, and it also helps that the voice acting cast is a pretty strong one. Here’s a look at some of the talented voice actors that have worked behind the scenes in Clair Obscur Expedition 33.
All Voice Actors For Clair Obscur Expedition 33
There are a total of 6-7 main characters that you’ll come across while playing this French RPG. Each character in Clair Obscur has their own story and challenges that they go through as the game goes on.
Rich Keeble – Monoco
Being an actor, writer, and producer, Rich Keeble has been involved in many works in the last few years. Keeble has voiced characters in games like Split Fiction (2025), New World: Aeternum (2024), Quantangled (2024), and Secret Passages (2023). He has also been the English voice actor for Fenrico from Wuthering Waves.
In Clair Obscur, he voices Monoco, a loyal and powerful gestural. In this RPG, gesturals are creatures that yearn for battle since it’s equal to meditation for them. While most Gesturals are violent and bloodthirsty, Monoco has learnt the way of humans and has now joined the expedition to help others stop the Paintress.
Andy Serkis – Renoir
Renoir has been voiced by Andy Serkis, and it should come as no surprise that his presence itself elevates the quality of the voice cast. Lord of the Rings, The Batman, Black Panther, Planet of the Apes firmly established Andy Serkis as an actor of repute. In addition, he has also done voice work for video games like Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate and Volume (2015).
The character that Serkis plays, Renoir, is an aged man who always puts his family first. Despite his strong exterior, Renoir is always scared of losing what he loves, and has been through a lot of pain in the past. Through his wisdom and knowledge, Renoir is ready to sacrifice anything to get his hands on victory.
Charlie Cox – Gustave
This well-known actor serves as the voice for Gustave. Charlie Cox is a British actor who has worked in productions like Daredevil, She-Hulk: Attorney At Law (2022), Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021), and Downton Abbey (2010). Though he has not been seen much voicing characters in video games, it will be interesting how this one pans out.
The character that Cox voices is Gustave, an engineer who has lived most of his life helping around the city and taking care of the defences, agriculture, and people. Now that Gustave has joined the expedition, all he wants to do is make sure the children of Lumiere do not live in constant suffocation due to the Paintress’s powers.
Kirsty Rider – Lune
Another well-known actor, Kirsty Rider, has been on television since the early 2000s. She has been a part of shows like Call The Midwife (2024), Peacock (2024), The Sandman (2022), Industry (2020), and Space Pirates (2007-2008). Clair Obscur Expedition 33 will be the second time she voices a character, since she has previously voiced a few characters from the game Sifu (2022).
Lune belongs to a family of researchers and has inherited the thirst for knowledge from her predecessors. All she wants to do is to complete her Parents’ research and find out the mystery behind the Paintress. During the Expedition, Lune serves an important purpose: Charting the Path for the whole group. This makes Lune an important part of this journey, and she will do anything she can to prevent the expedition from failing.
Jennifer English – Maelle
Jennifer English has been the voice behind many video game favorites, including Carlotta from Wuthering Waves (2024), Shadowheart from Baldur’s Gate III (2023), Bliss from Harmony: The Fall of Reverie, and Latenna from Elden Ring. English has also been a part of a few short films like Don’t Mention The B Word, Guest 2, and Divine Intervention.
Maelle is an important character in Clair Obscur Expedition 33. Ever since she was a child, Maelle knew she belonged to another place and has never considered Lumiere her actual home. While she is always cautious and doesn’t trust anyone easily, she appreciates her foster brother Gustave’s presence. Being just 16 during this expedition, Maelle is the youngest but hopes to use this expedition as a way of finding a place where she truly belongs.
Shala Nyx – Sciel
Nyx is an Actress who has voiced multiple characters, like Bess Law from Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden (2024), Farida Nazeri from Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty (2023), Polly from Harmony: The Fall of Reverie (2023), and Zanah from The Lord of the Rings: Gollum. She has also been a part of video games like Expeditions: Rome (2022), Diablo IV (2023), Baldur’s Gate III (2023), Assassin’s Creed Mirage (2023,) and Metaphor: ReFantazio (2024).
Shala Nyx serves as the voice for Sciel, a farmer who is always easygoing and has come to terms with the reality of life. Ever since she turned into a teacher, Sciel has brought happiness and knowledge to others, despite masking a lot of pain from her past. After joining the expedition, Sciel hopes to be of use to a greater cause.
Ben Starr – Verso
Having starred in shows like You (2023), The Other Half (2022), and London Kills (2022), Ben is no stranger to the world of movies and TV shows. Starr has also been a part of shows like Death In Paradise, You & Me, and Natural Six. Besides this, he has also voiced several characters in games like The First Berserker: Khazan (2025), Hades II (2024), Final Fantasy XVI (2023), and Tekken 8 (2024).
Not much is known about Ben Starr’s character, Verso. All we know so far is that he is an outsider who always has his eye on the expedition’s tracks. No one knows where he came from, but there’s one thing for sure: He will go to any length to complete his secret mission.
