Legendary Ships are some of the hardest fights in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced (AC Black Flag Resynced). You cannot rely on Edward’s hand-to-hand combat and stealth, and instead must have your trusty ship defeat these. All in all, there are four Legendary Ship locations that you need to know about. Before you actually take the fight to any of these ships, it is advised to get the max upgrades for your ship, as these will definitely make the fights a little bit more manageable.
Legendary Ship #1: HMS Prince

- Location: 854,55
- Strategy: Perfect Brace at the right time to avoid mortar fire.
The HMS Prince is a ghost ship that uses its high speed and continuous mortar fire to dish out massive damage to your ship. The fight is split into 3 parts, and while the fight remains the same across all 3, each time you take out a third of its health, the ship disappears into the fog and rains down mortar fire from above.
This can quickly rack up a lot of damage, and my recommendation here is to use Lucy’s ability, Perfect Brace. Using this ability at the right time greatly reduces all the damage taken by the ship. Even if the mortar explosion is about to occur nearby, you should consider using the ability, as the area of effect might still damage you.
During this period, keep moving around and trying to locate the ship. Eventually, when you spot it again, use the Ram Dash to re-engage while dealing a good chunk of damage.
Legendary Ship #2: La Dama Negra

- Location: 241, 73
- Strategy: Armored on both sides, so shoot its back.
This boss fight can be one of the more annoying ones in the game, simply due to how long it can take if you approach it like a normal ship. This man-of-war is shielded from both sides, significantly reducing the damage taken. Therefore, your traditional cannons and Swivel Guns fail to deal damage if you fire without thinking.
That does not mean that these weapons are useless, just that the timing of your shots, and position become super important. The backside of the ship is its weak spot, where it is uncovered. This should be your target throughout the fight.
However, if you get too close, watch out for the fire barrels it can toss out behind itself. These can deal a lot of damage if you get hit by them. So, I would advise keeping a safe distance while firing with all your weapons.
Legendary Ship #3: HMS Fearless and Royal Sovereign

- Location: 811, 858
- Strategy: Equal damage to both ships, otherwise one becomes immensely hard to defeat.
This is a tricky fight since it involves two Legendary ships, where both of them try to box you in. If you get caught in their trap then its almost game over as you watch your ship get bombarded from both sides by heavy gunfire.
Once you drop a third of their health, they start filling the water with fire barrels, which makes navigation much harder. You should try to keep your distance so you don’t get caught in these flames.
Finally, the main strategy to not get caught off guard will be to damage both in equal amounts. This is because, as soon as one ship sinks, the other immediately lights itself on fire and charges at you. If you don’t have them low enough, then dealing more damage while surviving can be really hard. So, just finish off that last bit of health to end the fight quickly.
Legendary Ship #4: El Impoluto

- Location: 117,841
- Strategy: Brace to counter the head on collissions and prevent huge damage.
This ship is like a bull, and it uses its ‘horns’ to charge at you quite effectively. The entire fight can be boiled down to a hit-and-run style one. It will charge you head on, and after colliding, quickly run away before repeating.
The best way to avoid damage is to use a Perfect Brace, to negate damage. If you can’t time this perfectly, don’t worry, as a regular Brace would also shield you from the worst of it. While El Impoluto is trying to run away you can pepper it with a lot of cannon fire, to shave off a lot of health.
There is one last thing you need to watch out for, and those are its Heated Shots, which last for a very long time. If you don’t use Brace, or get out of the range of fire, then this damage can quickly prove lethal.
