Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced brings an update to the recruitment system of your crew. Previously, there were only three ways of acquiring new crew members: Rescue stranded ones, help them fend off guards, and recruit some from an invaded ship. In addition to that, you can now do specific quests that help you recruit officers – special crew members that provide naval combat advantage – just like getting Ultimate Plans for the Jackdaw.
In addition to that, you also get the All Hands on Deck trophy/achievement. If you are looking to get the platinum in what is one of the best games out of the AC stable in years, in this guide, I will go over the locations of all the officers and how to recruit them to check off this trophy from your list.
While some officers provide you various bonuses, some act strictly as your quartermaster. Regardless, all of them are needed for the achievement.
Officer #1: Adéwalé
Adéwalé is automatically added to the crew in Sequence 03 when he escapes from the Spanish ship with Kenway. This is one of the officers that don’t give any bonuses – gives terrific advice though. Team Adéwalé.
Officer #2: The Padre
You need to finish the first two officers quests from Padre in order to convince him to join you.
- Coordinates: 919, 339
- Location: Caracol Island
- Requirement: Sequence 04 Memory 01 – This Old Cove
Quest 1 – Second chance: Talk to all the villagers around about the meal. You also have to deliver a plate to an old lady yourself. Since this is not enough to convince Padre, he gives you another quest immediately.
Quest 2 – Loyalty, Discipline, and Courage: The Padre now wants you to investigate the remaining of Du Casse’s men on Cumberland Bay. Head to the coordinates 648,348 and play through the mission. You will end up inside a cave with a note indicating an attack on Caracol Island. After witnessing the massacre that happens in the village, Padre decides to join Kenway’s crew.

Special Ability: Ram Dash – A powerful ram attack that can potentially one-shot schooners.
Officer #3: Lucy Baldwin
You must finish the first two officers quests from Lucy Baldwin for her to get to join you.

- Location: Salt Key Bank
- Requirements: Sequence 04 Memory 01 – This Old Cove
Quest 1 – A Proper Shipwright: Rescue Lucy from a vessel of the British Navy and defeat the British fleet. She is initially reluctant to come with you, but does so anyway. She immediately sets off to get a drink after docking, which initiates the next quest.
Quest 2 -The One With The Gun: Help Lucy secure the inheritance from her grandmother by defeating the evil father who is out for her life. After the initial naval combat, you also need to infiltrate a manor and retrieve an altered will that her father drew up. She ends up killing the father with her own hands, but is now ready to join your crew.

Special Ability: Perfect Brace – Bracing just before getting hit greatly reduces damage taken.
Officer #4: Anne Bonny
Anne Bonny replaces Adéwalé as your quartermaster during the events of Sequence 12. She is the other officer that provides no special ability but companionship and loyalty.
Officer #5: Tobias “Deadman” Smith
You must finish the first three memories of the epilogue questline “A World Without Gold” to acquire Tobias “Deadman” Smith as a crew officer. They are:

Cohort Mortar – Unlocks special auxiliary mortar
After completing Its a Start, Tobias will be automatically added to your crew, and it will pop the All Hands on Deck achievement.
