In ARK Survival Ascended, Magmasaur Eggs are precious, and hunting them down is difficult, as they are located deep inside the caves. It should come as no surprise, then, that this is something that quite a few gamers struggle with, including me in my initial playthrough of the Genesis update.
So, to make this easier for you, I have put up details on the best places to find Magmasaur Eggs in ARK Survival Ascended.
Magmasaur Eggs Location in ARK Survival Ascended

The Magmasaur Eggs are found at the bottom of a cave in the Volcanic region. You need to venture deep inside the cave until you come across a small lake filled with running lava. Here, on the magma-crusted platforms floating on the lava will find the specific eggs you are looking for in the game.
- The Magmasaur Eggs are located deep inside caves in the Volcanic biome in the new Genesis 1. The cave is located at the bottom of an active volcano. I’ve marked the exact spot for the cave on the image above to help you find it easily.
Note: The Cave has two entrance points; both are interconnected. Everything inside the cave stays the same no matter which entrance you use. The first entrance is located at 24.2 Latitude and 86.2 Longitude; the second is at 29 Latitude and 91.3 Longitude. I recommend entering in from the latter, as the entrance is filled with giant purple crystals, making it a highly noticeable landmark.
- Once inside, move to the deeper areas of the cave, and you will come across purple-colored crystals all around the walls. Follow these crystals, and they will lead you to the deeper part of the cave.

- Soon you will arrive at the very bottom end of the cave with running lava all around the floor. You can see the spot shown on the picture above. Here you will need to hunt down specific platforms floating on the top of lava and look for egg-shaped objects.
Note: You can use Pyromane, Baryonyx, or Terror Bird as great mounts to cover the area.
The Magmasaur Eggs will have the shape of a typical egg, but with a black-and-red shell. That will be the indicator to hunt them down, and it can be difficult, as the area around the egg also shares the same color and design. You are not going to find 3 or 4 Magmasaur Eggs in one spot; you will need to venture to other areas of the cave and look for a pool of lava. The chances of coming across Magmasaur Eggs around lava spots are higher.
Once you steal the eggs from Magmasaur’s nest, Magmasaur, the red lizard-type creatures, will get angry and will start attacking you. Here, use the grappling hook to the roof of the cave to get to a safe spot and completely avoid all the incoming attacks from the monsters down below.
Keep on exploring the cave, and you will find many spots with running lava with Magmasaur Eggs around their spot in ARK Ascended Genesis 1. Once you find one, you can use it to make Extraordinary Kibble, a pet food that can be given to Astrocetus, Griffin, Megalania Rock Elemental, Thylacoleo, and Yutyrannus.
