Games with multiple endings can extend the game’s playtime by introducing new mechanics and story bits to the game. Big Walk carries two endings; one is tied to the other. You must unlock ending A to unlock the second ending. Suffice to say, the second ending, or the True Ending, will take a lot of time, but it offers many difficult gameplay elements and a proper conclusion to the storyline and a nice message from the devs. Here we will cover both of the endings and the ways to unlock them in Big Walk.
All Endings in Big Walk
Big Walk has two separate endings: a normal ending and a secret True Ending. Here we will take a look at both of them, especially the steps to trigger them in Big Walk.
- Ending #1: Big Goodbye | Normal Ending
- Ending #2: Big Game | True Ending
Note: Completing the game doesn’t make the game start from scratch; you can go back to the game again to clear any unfinished puzzles. Another thing that changes between the endings is the dev messages shown at the end; the message for both endings will be different, same rule applies to the trophies attached to them.
Ending #1: Big Goodbye | Normal Ending
It can be triggered by just normally completing all the basic puzzles in the game. Here, your priority is to complete all the main puzzles tied to the story and ignore everything else. A typical ending for most players will be by the end of the game.
Here you must complete all the Colored Towers to obtain the Black Key to reveal the Black Globe at a distance. Now make your way to the Black Globe, or the sphere, head inside, and you will find another set of puzzles. Complete all the puzzles, and near the end, you will be elevated to the top of the Black Globe with a nice, beautiful sunset staring at you.
Now jump down and make your way to the end of the island. On your route, you will find a screen on the side of the road, as seen in the image above. Interact with the button on its left to make the credits appear on the screen. Now get to the end of the island, solve one final puzzle to open the doorway with white light coming out of it, and voila, you have unlocked the normal ending, “Big Goodbye.”
The final dev message will encourage you to explore more to find more puzzles, which will lead to the second ending. The message screen for the True Ending will be different than the one we received for the normal ending.
Ending #2: Big Game | True Ending
The true ending requires the 100% completion of all puzzles the game has to offer, including the newer puzzles from the normal ending.
While you might assume you cleared all the puzzles, after you unlock the Big Goodbye ending, the game introduces seven more difficult purple puzzles. They are challenging and will consume a lot of time compared to the puzzles that we faced before.
Tip: Do check the Map to keep track of all the puzzles in your game.
After completing all the purple ones and any puzzle you have left incomplete, you will obtain a White Key at the end; take the key to the Black Ball in the starting area. The ball will split into two, revealing a key slot on the wall. Insert the key, and you will get the true Big Walk ending.
Now the dev message will congratulate us for completing the game. That’s it. Now you have unlocked both endings to Big Walk.
