Castlevania Belmont’s Curse hides its secrets in places that stay mostly unseen if you are not careful with your observations. One can easily cross a section without grabbing something important, such as a weapon or an item. The game has its own way for the player to interpret the clue to find the secret in the area. The Fallen Clues are a set of clues players must decipher to reach a boss encounter, and they also lead to future unlock requirements for the sealed door at the Catacombs.
In Castlevania Belmont’s Curse, we have two sets of Fallen Clues; these clues will give us a cryptic message and are found in different parts of the map. In this guide, I will guide you to find both clues needed to challenge the Fallen Boss in the game.
Fallen Clue #1 | Ruined Market, Paris Street
A Lever for the Well Clue: “The monster . . . hunts for souls . . . tried to trap it . . . hid the lever . . . near the barrels . . .”
The first clue, “A Lever for the Well,” is found in the area east of the Ruined Market on Paris Street, as seen in the image above. The spirit will talk about a monster hunting for souls, and she will also tell us about her hiding the lever near the barrels. After you finish the conversation, look down below; you will see a room filled with nothing but barrels. Drop down to the barrel room, then hit the wall on the left to find a hidden room with a lever; pull the lever to open the passage by the well below. Go down the passage, and it will take you to the second clue.
Fallen Clue #2 | Path of the Rat, Paris Street
A Monster Terrorizes Paris Clue: “Its unholy cross . . . it cleaves through all . . . steel can shatter it . . . if the strike lands true.”
The second spirit is found in the southeast section of Path of the Rat in Paris Street, as shown on the map. If you broke the hidden wall on the first clue section, the route will take you to the second clue. Drop down the sewer and follow the path on the right; go through the tunnel, and you will find the Spirit on your way. Talk to the spirit to get the clue: A Monster Terrorizes Paris, where it will mention the Unholy Cross, the power it carries, and also its weakness.
After finding the clue, head to the next room to start the battle against the Fallen boss. Defeating the boss awards you the Fallen Tarot Card and unlocks the Holy Cross ability. You will also unlock the Blood Tell Trophy or Achievement in the game. After getting the Fallen Tarot Card and the ability, you should set your sights on getting the clues for the Warrior Tarot Card and the secret ability by defeating the Warrior boss at the end.
