What Is Hardwood In Coral Island?
Hardwood is a special type of wood material in Coral Island. Unlike normal wood that you can get by chopping down trees around the island, hardwood is a bit trickier to acquire.
Fortunately, for your early stages in the game, most of the construction as well as tool upgrades can be undertaken with the help of naturally abundant wood. However, once you start advancing in the game, you will absolutely need to get your hands on some hardwood.
First of all, you require different kinds of tree logs, as well as different types of tools in order to acquire hardwood. Secondly, hardwood, unlike the common wood, spawns only in specific areas within Coral Island. It can be found in several destructible chests found around the game’s map. It can also be acquired by chopping down certain types of fallen or rotten logs.
How To Acquire Hardwood In Coral Island
To acquire hardwood from the fallen tree logs, you need to have at least a silver axe. If you check our Coral Island tool upgrade guide, you will see that you will need to upgrade your common axe two times to get your hands on a silver axe. Here’s how to get a silver axe:
- Upgrade your common axe to a bronze axe by searching for bronze ore and smelting it to get bronze bars. You can then upgrade your axe with the help of the Sanchez blacksmith brothers.
- Now that you have a bronze axe at your disposal, start looking for silver ore.
- Similar to the aforementioned process, smelt your silver ores into silver bars.
- Once you have 5 silver bars, 20 wood, and a bronze axe, go to Sanchez Brothers to get your bronze axe upgraded into a silver axe.
Once you have the silver axe, you can start looking for fallen logs that contain hardwood.
Note: You cannot start collecting hardwood before you have a silver axe or better.
Coral Island Hardwood Location
You can find fallen logs containing hardwood at the following locations in the game:
- One fallen log containing five hardwoods can be found on the eastward path from the forest mine that goes towards the waterfall.
- Up to four fallen logs containing five hardwoods each spawn daily in the mid-forest area that unlocks after you offer at least six bundles/offerings at the Lake Temple.
- More fallen logs can be found deep in the forest once after you offer 14 offerings at the Lake Temple.
- One fallen log exists on your farm that offers five hardwoods once chopped. However, this log doesn’t respawn after you gather it. Furthermore, you will need to own a Gold Axe in order to chop this log.
You can also buy a limited amount of hardwood from the Carpenter store owned by Dinda and Joko. It’s open from 9 AM to 5 PM on weekdays and 9 AM to 2 PM on Sundays. The store will be closed on Saturday. Each piece of hardwood bought at this shop will set you back by 150 Coins.
