Rune Song is a legendary sword in Core Keeper that excels in melee damage. The sword also offers additional health, life, and attack perks on successful execution of attacks on the enemies. In order to craft this iconic weapon, you need to get your hands on various exclusive resources such as the Clear Gemstone.
Before you can craft the legendary Rune Song, you need to have achieved all these game progression milestones:
- Obtain Glurch Eye, the Ghorm’s Horn, and the Heart of the Hive Mother.
- Activate the Core
- Unlock Rune Parchment by making space for Caveling Merchant

Unlocking Rune Parchment Station In Core Keeper
In order to craft the Rune Song in Core Keeper you will need to combine the necessary resources at a Rune Parchment crafting station. This is done by following these steps:
- Defeat Ghorm the Devourer to create a habitable room for NPCs in your base.
- Defeat Glurch the Abominous Mass to drop the Glurch Eye.
- Defeat Malugaz the Corrupted to drop the Stolen Crystal Heart.
- Activate the Core by placing the relics (including Ghorm’s Horn) in the respective statues.
- Place the Mysterious Idol (drops from defeating Ghorm) in a room at your base to get the Caveling Merchant NPC to visit the base.
- Purchase the Rune Parchment Station from the Caveling Merchant once he visits the base for 2000 Ancient Coins.
Collecting Resources For The Rune Sword
Once, you have unlocked the Rune Parchment, collect the following resources/relics:
- 1x Broken Handle
- 1x Chipped Blade
- 1x Clear Gemstone
- 10x Ancient Gemstone
- 50x Iron Bar
Here’s how to find these resources:
- Broken Handle: You can obtain the Broken Handle by opening Ancient, Locked Scarlet, and Standard Chests; or defeat any one of the bosses -The Hive Mother, Haunted Hive Mother, Azeos the Sky Titan, or Awakened Azeos.
- Chipped Blade: You can find Chipped Blade in a small sealed ruin in the Azeos’ Wilderness biome. The area needs a Glow Tulip to unlock.
- Clear Gemstone: This is a random spawn; check out our guide here for more details.
- Iron Bar: You can easily craft this item by smelting Iron Ore at the Furnace in your base.
- Ancient Gemstone: You can find the Ancient Gemstone in various chests or buy it from Caveling Merchant for about 60 Ancient Coins per piece. Keep in mind that the Merchant only possesses five Ancient Gemstones in stock.
