Construction is going to be a big part of Wardogs; you can’t win the entire war with just guns. You need to provide more for your teammates to have a chance of survival on the battlefield. Building is a whole new part of Wardogs, and mechanics found in this system can be a bit confusing for the new player. One of the items that holds critical importance in the game is the FOB, or Forward Operating Base. They provide additional protection for spawn vehicles by creating a heavily defensive area.
Here I will be explaining how to build a FOB and the ways you can expand it with proper material and hammer information. One thing you should know: building an FOB is the first part of the gameplay; the real gameplay is about maintaining an FOB with supplies.
Building A FOB in Wardogs

We must buy an FOB from the Garage Vendor and then set it up at a location to build it.
The entire purpose of an FOB is to have an area for your teammates to build and basically chill within the zone. Since you are going to be doing a lot of building, many players do decide to make the FOB zone as fortified as possible. The building process breaks down into these steps:
- Buying a Vehicle (Land or Air)
- Buying FOB with Supplies
- Placing FOB and starting to build
Note: FOB doesn’t act as a spawn area for players; only MSV and vehicles spawn in the area.
Head over to the Vehicle Vendor in the camp and buy a vehicle. I highly recommend buying a chopper so you can carry all the supplies and FOB to a distant spot. Both land and flying vehicles can be used to deliver supplies. Now hop inside the vehicle to get the option to buy supplies from the Garage Vendor. Here you are met with two options: Ammo and Logistics; choose Logistics to open the supplies purchase window. Here, you must buy:
- Buy the Small Crate for $75 found under the Crates tab, next to Pallets.
- Now buy the Forward Operating Base for $3,750 under Buildings.
- Now get a Small Hammer, Ammo Supplies, Build Supplies, and Fuel Supplies.
We have everything to build a FOB; our next goal is to look for a spot to start the building process.
Note: Small Hammers are perfect for building basic structures such as barbed wire and sandbags. A Medium Hammer lets you build gates and walls, and lastly, having a Large Hammer allows you to build Anti-Air Guns, Mortars, and a Drill Rig.
Installing FOB

Find a suitable spot, then get the FOB out of the supply box and place it on the ground, and voila, you have successfully built a FOB in your game. Make sure to place the FOB in a good area, probably next to a steel building so your FOB doesn’t get Mortar striked from the enemy team. You need to consider the defence of the FOB and where the enemy might attack the FOB; you need to take every angle gaps into account before placing the FOB on the ground.
Now you will notice a blue square box appearing around the FOB on the map. This blue zone is the area that you can use to build anything you want. To build a base, we need supplies; luckily, we bought enough supplies to start building.
- Ammo Supplies are used to build defensive weapons.
- Build Supplies are primarily used for building.
- Fuel Supplies are used for fueling vehicles.
- Mechanical Supplies are needed to repair vehicles.
Once you have enough supplies and with the right type of hammer, you are ready to build any item within the blue zone. It can also be a great money-making method. With very little action on the battlefront, you can set up a FOB and start building any items and make upwards of 50000 on a run.
Tips for Building a FOB in Wardogs
- Make sure to set up defence around the FOB, especially covering enemy spawn areas. Then you can start working on the build.
- Always build the FOB next to an indestructible structure; the same goes for all the buildings inside the FOB area.
- Don’t cover the area around with just walls, or they will be used as a wall to protect the enemy. Use recon towers between walls so you can check up on the enemies and basically defend the wall. Build Recon and Guard Towers for defence. It’s better if you place these towers next to the main gate, entrance, or exit section to the FOB area.
- Check the outer wall for any gaps between them; if you do find one, cover it up quickly. Only start working on the Gate; make sure it is built in a good, open area so a vehicle can go in and out without getting stuck. Always build two main gates with two doors; having just one will make everything tedious and slow.
- Lastly, place barbed wire on the wall so the enemies can’t just jump over it to get inside the FOB zone. If you find a spot that can be hopped over, immediately cover these spots with barbed wire. Using barbed wire also prevents enemies from shooting straight into the holes. These wires are excellent for covering corners, which are usual spots for enemies to hide and seek cover.
