As a looter shooter game, your inventory won’t take too long to fill up in The First Descendant. This is bad news if you want to collect more and better items. As a result, dismantling bad weapons is an ideal way to free up some space and also get precious materials.
Dismantling Junk Weapons in The First Descendant
You can dismantle any weapon in The First Descendant by opening your inventory and assigning the weapon as junk. Here is the process:
- Open the inventory by pressing “I” on your keyboard or the Options button on the controller
- Click on any weapon to open the weapons inventory
- Hover over any weapon and click “J” on your keyboard or RT/R2 on the controller to mark it as junk
- Dismantle Junk by pressing “Ctrl” on your keyboard or RT/R2 on your controller
This process sounds tedious as you have to go through every weapon. To make it faster, you can try the mass dismantling method.

Mass Dismantling Weapons
Here’s the process of mass dismantling weapons instead of going one by one:
- Like before, open up your inventory and select a weapon from the right side to go to the weapons inventory
- Use the “Designate all as junk” button by holding down “Shift” on your keyboard or the right analog stick on your controller
- Dismantle Junk by pressing “Ctrl” on your keyboard or RT/R2 on your controller
While mass dismantling weapons, make sure you don’t dismantle any gun that you plan on using. You can use the “Filter all as junk” option to ensure that none of your Epir or Ultimate weapons are selected.
By dismantling weapons, you will free up space in your inventory and get Superalloy and Liquid Metal.
