You can now explore the underwater depths of Pywel in Crimson Desert’s Charting the Unknown DLC. Getting a ship is only half the battle; you’ll also need a vessel to travel underwater. Luckily, you can get yourself a new mount to help you on your deep-sea journey. The shark is a vicious predator, but with the right techniques, you can tame it and add it to your growing list of mounts.
With the shark, you can explore new underwater areas. But taming the shark has its own set of problems. To make it easier to understand the shark’s taming process, here is a simple breakdown of getting the right gear and skills, finding a shark, and the best way to tame it in Crimson Desert.
How to Get Diving Gear

The only way to get the new diving gear is through the Crimson Desert Pre-order Exclusive Bonus. This unlocks the 4-piece Charter’s Diving Outfit that is equippable on Kliff and Damiane. Each piece also offers different stats. The Diving Suit and Helm help increase max breathing underwater by 120, while the Gloves and Boots offer a 2% Swim Speed Multiplier.
To find your new diving gear, head over to the Pause menu and select the Others option. Find the Add-ons option to find all your bonus materials, including the Charter’s Diving Outfit. As for players who haven’t purchased the pre-order bonus, there could be another way in-game, but so far, it hasn’t been discovered yet.
How to Swim Underwater
Besides obtaining the Diving Suit, you also need to learn how to swim underwater. Learning how to dive underwater unlocks automatically after completing the Charting the Unknown questline as part of the new DLC. This will give you access to the Great Ocean, and you can find the quest under the Greymanes faction after completing Chapter 3 of the main storyline and upgrading the Greymane Camp.
Preparing for Taming the Shark
I recommend using the Helm and Suit alone to increase the max breathing stats, which will help you dive underwater for longer. As for skills, increasing your stamina from the skill tree is a sure requirement. You will require it to hold on to the shark during the taming process. To make things easier, I suggest equipping the Force Palm skill too, as this will make it easier to stun the shark for easy taming.
How to Tame the Shark

Before you can get into taming a shark, you need to find a shark first. The best spot I could find a shark, or two, is at the outskirts of Delesyia, around the surrounding waters where the lone Abyss Cresset is located on Red Hangs Island. This isn’t a guaranteed spawn point, as there could be other locations for the shark to appear too.
If you can’t find a shark here, then I would suggest exploring the waters whenever you get the time, and you might find a shark along the way. Once you find the shark, grab its attention by getting close to it or using your new Harpoon tool. The shark is highly aggressive, so it will come at you and deal a lot of damage. Carrying a few consumables will help replenish any lost health.

Wait until the shark’s snout gets as close as possible to use the Force Palm skill and knock it cold. Quickly swim towards it and press the key to mount it. Once done, this will start the minigame, where you need to aim at the shark’s tail continuously without letting go. I suggest turning the camera around so you can see the shark’s back and aim for the tail throughout the minigame.
What does the Shark Mount do
You can use the shark to travel underwater in Crimson Desert, and it is quite fast as well. Plus, if you find any loot crates on the water surface, you can use the shark’s bite attack to break the crate apart and collect the loot within. Besides this, you can also use the shark to bite enemies that have fallen into the water, but you can’t bite other fish and sea creatures.
