Wardogs throw you into a dog-eat-dog world; it can get brutal at times when you have no defence against the onslaught of bullets coming at you out of nowhere. Here, you desperately need any set of defence that will provide some protection to every limb attached to your body. Even the basic defense gear might not seem like much at first, but they are still better than having nothing on your body. Luckily, the game allows you to equip some gear on your character before leaving the safe zone for the match.

How to Buy Armor in Wardogs
Simply just head to the Equipment Vendor to buy armor at the start of a round. Each item listed here will have its own in-game currency requirement; pay the money to get the armor for yourself.
Once you interact with an Equipment Vendor inside the camp, you will see multiple tabs at the top of the HUD, with options: Overview, Equipment, Gear, Items, and Loose Ammo. Now, select the Gear tab to view all the armor sets available for purchase in this section. Under Gear, you will find Helmet, Armor, Small Tac Vest, Scout Backpack, and Basic Parachute.
Note: Tech Vest, Ghillie Gear, and Backpacks are gear sets that do not protect against any offensive attacks.
Each gear item will have a price, weight number, and Wardog level requirement attached to it. When you are starting in the game, you are underleveled and broke, so here the best possible course of action is to settle for the cheapest loadout. As you invest more time into the game and make overall progress, you will increase your Wardog Level, which will allow you to get higher-tier armor.

- Adding more weight will increase protection but also slow you down. A trade-off that not many people want to make in a game like Wardogs.
- Once you purchase the armor, it appears in the matching gear slot in your inventory.
- Higher-level armor sets will offer more protection to more parts of the body. There are also subtle differences: a Lv. 1 Helmet will protect only the head, but a Lv.3 Helmet will offer protection for the Head and Neck.
- Higher-level gear also comes with its unlock cost and weight, which always increases from lower level to higher level. A Lv. 2 Helmet can cost you $37k to unlock, while a Lv. 4 Helmet can easily go around $150K.
- New accounts will get 50% vendor prices, but it disappears after reaching Wardog Lv. 9.
