In an active war zone, victory comes in all shapes and sizes: some march into battle with nothing but a weapon in hand, while others take on the role of delivering the much-needed supplies and soldiers to keep the fight going without taking a breather. If you are planning to dominate WarDogs with tank and turret vehicles, you will need to have a good amount of driver skill. Leveling up driver skill comes from carrying out many driving-related tasks on the battlefield.
In this guide, I will list out all the best ways to level up driver skills in WarDogs and the milestones you can set for your XP grind to get XP at a quicker rate and dominate the battlefield.
Leveling Up a Driver in WarDogs

You will level up the Driver skill by driving around, supporting passengers to their destinations, delivering supplies, performing road kills, driving APCs, and killing enemies with vehicles’ turrets. At the beginning, the progress will be a bit slower, but as you unlock more vehicles, you will be the master behind the wheel.
I will recommend prioritizing leveling up to Lv. 6 in Driver skill to make things simpler and easier. Once you reach Lv.6, you will unlock a Vehicle with an LMG installed, which will make XP farming much easier.
- Driving Around: Take a route from the Control Zone to HQ to get a good amount of Driver XP. This is not going to be the best way, as you will quickly find the method tedious, but don’t ignore it.
- Support: Take a passenger and drop them at the Control Zone to get some Driver XP. Any action committed by the passenger once they are dropped off will also help you gain XP (Assist XP). While many like the idea of a helicopter, people are desperate enough to jump into a vehicle when there is no heli around. Successfully dropping them, and if they managed to kill someone, then you will also get the XP in your book.
- Supply: Just haul some supplies in your vehicle and take them to the ally’s zone to get XP. Take any type of supply and deliver it to the FOB or Forward Operating Base area. If the FOB is in a Factory, Church, or Tower, you will have an easier time delivering the supplies; good luck if the FOB is placed in the stadium.
- Road Kill: Basically running over people; it’s a risk, but if you catch one or two in the field idle or sprinting and unaware of your vehicle, run them over to get a good amount of XP.
- Drive-by Shooting: At Lv.6, you will finally have the keys to Kodiak. It comes with an LMG turret; get a decent gunner, and you will farm XP more easily than ever. You are not invincible inside the Kodiak; make sure to engage with one or two enemies at a good 300 meters to be on the safer side.
- APC: Driving an APC is also a huge XP gain, but it comes with a certain amount of risk. You need to place it in combat areas, where the chances of the APC taking damage are high. Many players are also seeing APC to destroy them for 5K. You are putting a bounty on your head if you are planning to drive an APC near the hot zone.
Tip: While in the Kodiak, always move around; don’t stay idle, or you will easily take damage. The chances of you and the gunner getting sniped are very high. If you are taking the role of a Gunner, press C to crouch inside the car to avoid damage.
Do note, progressing in the Driver skill will unlock heavy vehicles to help you earn XP even faster. At Driver Level 3, you will unlock the URAL Truck. Later, at Driver Level 6, the Kodiak with a 249 LMG turret becomes available; get some passengers in the vehicle and paint the town red. Once you hit the magic Driver Level 35, the L2A6 Heavy Tank finally becomes available to cause as much devastation as possible.
