The arsenal in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is already shaping up to be packed with a wide range of rifles to choose from in multiplayer. Whether it’s a compact submachine gun (SMG) for close-quarters combat or a powerful sniper rifle perfect for picking off enemies from afar, there’s something to suit every style of play. Before the beta gets underway, information on the weaponry appearing in Infinity Ward’s latest release is starting to emerge. With that said, here’s the full list of confirmed weapons that are featuring in the campaign, multiplayer, and DMZ modes.
All Confirmed Modern Warfare 4 Weapons
Thanks to several developer updates and cinematic trailers, the vast majority of Modern Warfare 4 weapons have already appeared. This is great news if you’re looking to see what multiplayer will have on offer ahead of launch.
Below is a full list of the confirmed weapons so far:
Assault Rifles

If you’re a fan of weapons from previous Modern Warfare games, the Modern Warfare 4 assault rifles will be extremely familiar. The M4 and Kastov 762 return after appearing in 2022’s Modern Warfare 2, while the Cronen Squall joins the category after appearing as a battle rifle.
For fans of battle rifles, initial intel reveals that the category will not feature in Modern Warfare 4. This explains why the Cronen Squall has become an assault rifle this time around.
Elsewhere, the Hyeon Burst and HAN 86 are making their Call of Duty debuts after being spotted in the hands of Korean soldiers during several snippets of gameplay.
SMGs

So far, details on four SMGs have appeared. The ISO Nightshade is available in the Signature Weapon Collection that forms the Vault Edition. Each weapon from the collection also has an Apex Attachment, giving you even greater customisation options.
The PPSh-41, VEL-46, and Sterling have all popped up in promotional materials. Known for their excellent close-range firepower, be sure to use some XP Tokens to increase their level as fast as possible shortly after launch.

LMGs

The FiNN and M91 are set to return in Modern Warfare 4, having debuted in 2019’s Modern Warfare. LMGs rarely shake up the meta, but their huge magazines and ease of control make them excellent options if you’re looking to hold down open areas of the map.

Marksman Rifles

Marksman rifles are back for Modern Warfare 4. Acting as a hybrid between an assault rifle and a sniper rifle, this weapon category offers a variety of weaponry capable of excelling in mid-range and long-distance duels.
The iconic Mosin-Nagant returns once again with a modern-day aesthetic, alongside two new weapons that are bound to pack a deadly punch on the battlefield.
Shotguns

Just two shotguns have appeared ahead of Modern Warfare 4’s launch. The Rezi 12 appears in the Vault Edition with an Apex Attachment that introduces pump action and the option for explosive slugs for even more damage.
Sniper Rifles

Infinity Ward is known for bringing some of the most iconic sniper rifles to the Call of Duty franchise. This time around, two new weapons join the arsenal, along with the Signal 50 from 2022’s Modern Warfare 2.
Compared to Black Ops 7, sniping in Modern Warfare 4 is set to be an entirely different experience thanks to various gunplay adjustments and movement mechanic changes. Even with the changes, you can expect plenty of long-range firepower from this category.
Sidearms

There’s limited intel on the sidearms appearing in Modern Warfare 4. Based on early screenshots and pre-beta trailers, the .50 GS is on its way back to multiplayer. Armed with a huge amount of firepower, a one-shot headshot is possible if your aim is accurate enough.
For any kind of vehicle destruction, the JOKR is back. The lock-on launcher is the perfect tool to destroy any land-based or airborne vehicles during matches.
How Many Guns Are In Modern Warfare 4?
Modern Warfare 4 will launch with 24 primary weapons available in multiplayer. This is the lowest amount of launch weaponry from the newer Modern Warfare trilogy. However, it is a higher amount than the launch weapons from Black Ops 7.
It may not seem like a lot, but post-launch updates are expected to introduce a wealth of new weaponry into the arsenal, giving you plenty of choice when building the perfect loadout for multiplayer action.
