Electronics are the key components to solve the point of interest problems and to upgrade material in the Coast, the second chapter in Outbound. I did have a difficult time tracking it down, since you unlock so many machines in the game, it’s hard to keep track of the purpose of each machine. To spare you the trouble, here is a complete guide to crafting Electronics and Battery Assemblers in Outbound.
Crafting Electronics and Battery Assembler in Outbound

You must build a Bolt Press Machine and the Sheet Press Machine to work with the Assembler machine to craft electronics. And Battery Assembler comes after you have completed crafting Electronics via Assembler.
This also means you must find the blueprint for all four machines to even get a chance to craft it. I would advise roaming around the Coast, chapter 2, and completing the towers scattered around the map to grab the blueprint for all three machines.
Bolt Press Machine: Converts 2x Scrap Metal into 1x Bolt. You will need around 7 Scrap Metals to craft the Bolt Press Machine.
Note: You will always find Scrap Metal near towers or around industrial waste.
Sheet Press Machine: Converts 2x Scrap Metal into 1x Sheet Metal. Just like the Bolt Press Machine, you will need 7 Scrap Metals to craft the Sheet Press Machine.
Assembler: Converts 1x Sheet Metal and 1x Bolts into 1x Electronics. To build an Assembler, you will need to grab 5x Sheet Metals and 5x Bolts to craft the Assembler Machine.
Battery Assembler: Needs 1x Sheet Metal, 4x Bolts, x1 Electronics to produce x1 Battery Components. You will need x2 Electronics and 4x Sheet Metal to build.
Craft at least 5 Bolts in the Bolt Press Machine, 5 Sheet Metal in the Sheet Press Machine, and now combine both of them to craft the Electronics in the Assembler. I would recommend carrying at least a dozen of them, getting all the upgrades, and fixing some of the problems you will encounter in Chapter 2.
You can level up the Motor Upgrade to Lv 2 and Battery Capacity Upgrade Lv 2, found under Vehicle Powertrain Upgrade. There are many POI or point of interest areas, such as the Lighthouse in the second chapter in Outbound, that require Electronics to fix certain items to make them functional. Which is always related to achievement, finishing the point of interest objective always grants a trophy, so you don’t want to miss it.
