Choosing where to build your base in Palworld 1.0 is one of the most important decisions you will make. A great location saves hours of farming, keeps your Pals productive, and makes defending against raids much easier. While you can always relocate later, starting at the right location provides a significant advantage.
With the latest release introducing new mechanics, updated terrain, and improved base-building options, some older locations are still relevant while the newer ones are even more valuable. In this guide, we will cover the best base locations for both efficiency and aesthetics.
What Makes a Great Base?
Before looking at the best bases and their coordinates, it’s worth understanding what separates an average base from an amazing one.
The best locations usually offer:
- Plenty of flat surfaces
- Nearby mining deposits
- Trees and Stone within your base radius
- Easy access to Fast Travel points
- Cliffs or walls that make raids tougher
- Enough room for breeding farms and production lines
You don’t necessarily need every resource in one location. Many players end up operating multiple bases focusing on various assets instead of trying to fit everything in a single one.
Best Base Locations in Palworld 1.0
All the locations on this list are going to be in the newer regions, added in the recent patch. These regions have beautiful vistas to be explored all over, with lot of wide and flat surfaces for base building.
Crystal Pool

It is a gorgeous crystallized pool with a lot of room around for building a base. Don’t have an aquatic kit? Fret not. This pool is shallow enough for the bases to be directly built on it. It is also vastly flat, so you should have no trouble with material placement. One thing you need to look out for though – the world boss, Jetragon, roaming nearby. You don’t want your base pals to be unnecessarily aggro’d by it, so be mindful of the distance.

Soralite Cluster

Another Sunreach location, rich with the new material Soralite ore. There are actually a lot of Soralite mining spots all over the region, but we chose this since it is one of the few that provides uninterrupted flat terrain for base building while keeping easy access to the ore. It also has a high peak that looks over the island. 10/10 view.
Coordinates: -583, -1444
Flame Pulse Islet

A volcanic island that has a lot of terrain to be built upon. You can generally build anywhere you wish on the island, but the coordinates we list below is the one of the most suitable locations for base building. It has a vast, open, and flat surface while maintaining a safe distance from the Pierdon world boss.
Coordinates: 788, 457
Sandstone Gate Islet

At first glance, this location might not look anything unique. Sure it has large, flat terrains like the previous locations on the list, but it feels extremely bland. All you see when you take a look around is plain sand and rocks. But there is a catch – if you look closely, you will see a hole in ground that can essentially turn into an underground bunker. This is one of the best ways to make a secret mining base for regular resources.

The Oasis

If you like the idea of a secret base but the previous location is too bland for you, this oasis location could suit your style more. With a bigger entrance and more flexibility for building, this base also features two tunnel entrances that expand into bigger locations.
Coordinates: -259, -1398
Half-Made Village

One of the most beautiful locations on this list, this spot features pre-made buildings which you can form your base around. It also has a multiple waterfalls and an entire skyline down below, with tall grass that gives proper Ghost of Tsushima vibes. If built properly, you can turn this into an entire village for your squad to retreat and restock.
Coordinates: -266, -1492
Sakurajima
It shouldn’t come to anyone’s surprise, especially those who have been playing the game since it’s EA launch, that Sakurajima would feature as one of the best spots to build your base. We recommend setting up one anywhere near the pink colored terrain on the map. This region is flat, has oil nodes, and also Hard Wood that is required for several endgame crafting tools.
Water Terrain

The only reason we wouldn’t recommend this location is the awkward terrain placements. Speaking strictly for aesthetics, this is arguably the best possible place we know of for base building in Palworld 1.0. Building on it though, can be definitely feel frustrating at times, especially because of the lack of flat surfaces. Up for a bit of challenge?
Coordinates: -220, -1498
Scouring Islet

If you wish to own an island of your own, this location is for you. With tons of flat surfaces to choose from, you can get extremely creative turning your base into an isolated fortress. Even though a bit closer to the world boss, the verticality helps with both – avoiding the boss and making raids on your base harder.
Coordinates: 409, -693
Foot of the World Tree

Because of what we assume are guild and online restrictions, it is currently not possible to build a base directly inside the World Tree, despite of gorgeous spots and plenty of flat surfaces to go around. So, we move to the next best thing – The Foot. Make sure you have an aquatic building kit, and build a base here if you like to watch dazzling neon lights every now and then. The flat surface and open space is just an added bonus.
