Phantom Blade Zero is filled with many mysterious locations that require nothing but exploration to find these specific spots in the game. The map doesn’t hand out any clues, as you must carry out the exploration on your own by setting up your own voyage into the game’s deeper levels. One such level is Crimson Manor, which is found in the Weeping Creek Valley. Upon exploring Weeping Creek Valley, you will come across Blackstone Shards and Sha-Chi Amber Shards, and you will also find many secret areas such as a route to Crimson Manor.
In this guide, I will help you find a way into Crimson Manor hidden in the Weeping Creek Valley. The route is somewhat simple, but there are missable points of entry that require a closer look or inspection. I will also provide a guide to how to open the doors to Crimson Manor and the secrets awaiting inside.
Getting to Crimson Manor

The location for Crimson Manor is hidden underground, and the only way to reach the place is by taking an elevator east of the Sha-Chi Valley Tower Base location. If you look at the map above, the place we are looking for is underneath the giant wheel-like drawing on the map, as marked on the image.

First, travel to the Long Pillar Overlook bell, turn around, and take the path on the right of the bell, as marked with the yellow arrow on the image. Follow the road, pass the buildings, head under the large steel pipe, make one final right turn, and you will see an open doorway to a large building. Congratulations, you made it to Crimson Manor, but we are at the entrance.

If you move to the right, you will come across a barricaded doorway on the left; if you turn around, you will see an exploding monster or powder keg at the staircase to the left. All you have to do is lure the monster out of its location to the barricade. As long as the monster explodes near the barricade, it gets blasted open.
Once the barricade is busted open, get inside and take the elevator down. On the bottom floor, you will find yourself in an open area with a large manor at a distance. Walk up to the manor, and then near the entrance, you will find a Crimson Manor bell.

How to Enter Crimson Manor

You can’t get inside Crimson Manor without completing the Heralds Illusion side quest to obtain the item Puppet’s Tongue, which is needed to open the door to the manor. After you defeat Yuzan, No. 3 Musician Puppet boss at the Puppet Testing Ground in the Village of Lu, go through the portal to start the Heralds Illusion quest. This requires entering all three portals scattered throughout the game:
- First Portal: Puppet Testing Grounds in the Village of Lu after defeating the Yuzan, No. 3 Musician Puppet boss.
- Second Portal: At the Mandate Encampment after defeating the Gu Wanyue boss in Pangzhen.
- Third Portal: You will find the third portal at the end of the Mountain of Imprisonment.
Note: You gain access to the third portal by taking the route on the northeastern side of Meigu Lake, which unlocks by defeating Flame, the Mask-Bound Lion Dance Grandmaster in Pangzhen.
After completing the side quest, you will be rewarded with the item “Puppet’s Tongue“. Place this on the door to open the doors to Crimson Manor. As you descend into the manor, you will come across a secret boss, “Puppet Scavenger.” During the boss encounter, you will deal with a second boss, Acolyte Hansui. Defeating both of them rewards you with Alloyed Scythe Blade, The Crystal Puppet Eye, and Hansui’s Frost Mask. These items do play a crucial role to trigger the perfect ending of the game.
