If you are not looking, you will miss out on a lot of crucial items in Phantom Blade Zero, from weapons to Phantom Edges; all of them are located in special places. Some of them are tied to the overall story of the game, while others require careful exploration of every little part of the area. If you’re rushing to the next chapter, the chances are you will miss out on a lot of important items; one such item is the Boulderguard accessory, which shows up in Weeping Creek Valley but at a particular location after completing all the necessary tasks.
In this guide, I will help you walk you through all the necessary steps you must follow to gain access to the Boulderguard accessories in Weeping Creek Valley in Phantom Blade Zero. These items are completely missable; if you are not careful, the item will get locked out in your game.
How To Get a Boulderguard in Phantom Blade Zero
Boulderguard is located on a grave near the Axemaster’s Holding Cell bell. We must carry out plenty of tasks beforehand before seeing the accessory we are looking for in the game. Prepare for a bit of backtracking, as we must walk back and forth between two different places.

First, travel to the Outpost bell and now turn around head down the stairs to the house marked in the image above. Inside, you will find an NPC hiding behind a couple of crates; talk to the paranoid person and exhaust all the dialogue to trigger the quest “Four Fierce Axes.”

Now make your way back to the Outpost bell, where we started our journey; here, take the stairs to the top, as marked on the image above. Head straight to the open area to start the boss encounter against “Peng Meng, the Axemaster“. Defeating the Axemaster awards you the “Dread Axe,” allowing you to break chain barricades. Now that we slayed the Axemaster, head back to the guy we met earlier behind the crates, talk to him, and exhaust all the dialogue.
After completing the conversation, return to the boss area where we fought Peng Meng, the Axemaster, and use the Dread Axe to break the chain wall in the area. After breaking the wall, follow the path on the left, and it will lead you to the area with the Axemaster’s Holding Cell bell.

Now follow the small path to reach a gravestone, as marked on the map with a yellow arrow. Head inside, and at the end, you will find the grave. Examine the grave to find the Boulderguard. This item allows 15% damage mitigation while not Guard Broken.
The game also hides secrets which are worth exploring – like the Crimson Manor – a purely optional area located in the Weeping Creek Valley region itself.
