Fixing an old device comes with a heavy price tag. In ReStory: Chill Electronics Repairs, you are tasked with repairing various ancient technical relics from the past to earn a living. The game does get realistic when it hands you a phone and tasks you with repairing it completely for the money. While initially, simply removing the dust will make a device operable, down the road, you will need more than that. Spare Parts will then become essential to fix broken devices. Getting Spare Parts in ReStory
The only way to fix a device is to get another device of the same type, take the required parts from it, and use them in the device to be repaired. The game lets you buy a used device under the same name and technical version, so you can buy it cheap and make good profits once the client’s device has been repaired.
When you open a device from the client’s work, you will find many things wrong with the device, as seen in the image above. First things first, clean up all the dust from the parts, and then focus on the parts that are missing or Broken. Here we have an Eggotchi device missing three parts: Screen Lens, Front Panel, and a Button Cell.
Note: You can’t buy individual parts to fix up a device. However, there are Spare Part boxes you can buy to get random parts that may or may not turn out to be useful.
First, throw out the broken parts of the device into the garbage. Keep the desk clean; now go online and look for an Eggotchi listing under the marketplace. This is the equivalent of a used products market in ReStory: Chill Electronics Repairs, where people list their devices for a certain price.
Tip: The price on the working device will be higher than the price of the non-working device. You don’t necessarily have to buy the expensive version of the device from the used market; if only a few parts are missing, then you can opt for the least expensive one on the market.
Buy the Eggotchi from the market, and then disassemble it. Store the workable parts and throw the rest in the dumpster. Now that all of the parts are repaired in the stash, bring back the client’s device and then start adding the parts from the stash to fix the entire thing.
Some of the devices that you will be working on will require higher licenses, so you will be able to buy the devices and disassemble them for future use. Do note that the color on the used product doesn’t matter; the parts only need to work. Once they are in workable condition, you can put it to any device to fix it.
