Cats can be friendly, but most of the time they don’t want to be around humans; can’t blame them. The world of the Adventures of Elliot has around 50 cats in all four maps of the game. And they do play an adorable and important role in the game’s ending: The True Ending of the game is tied to collecting a minimum of 30 cats. Here in this guide, we will take a look at all 50 cats and their location details found in the game.
All Cats Found in The Adventures of Elliot
Acquiring all cats in The Adventures of Elliot earns you the “Katzenmeister” trophy in the game. Here are the details on all 50 cats found in the game and the related area.
- All Cats in the Age of the Safekeeping (1-13)
- All Cats in the Age of Reconstruction (14-25)
- All Cats in the Age of Magic (26-38)
- All Cats in the Age of Budding (39-50)
After completing a specific side quest, Elliot, our main character, can interact with any cats in the game and invite them to a safe area. Some cats will be friendly, and you can add them to your collection with a simple interaction, while others will not be so friendly and will start to run away.
Here, you will need to chase after them to collect. Collecting the cats is the first part of the cat gameplay mechanic; the second part is about feeding them. You can feed them catfish to create a bond. Other than catfish, you can try feeding the cats a range of snacks, among other things. The game also has icons (Hearts, Scribble, and Musical Notes) as an indicator of the cat’s fondness for the particular food.
In-game, you can keep track of the collected cats by talking to Ailurophilic Traveler. When you deliver the cats, you will also get rewarded for the action. Before diving in, make sure you have Ignite and Wrap Fairy Power in your possession, as they will be required in some dungeons to grab our kitty cat.
All Cats in the Age of the Safekeeping (1-13)
Age of Safekeeping holds 13 cats in the area; some are part of quests, and others you will need to actively hunt down. Some are found outside, 2 of them are tied to a side quest, and the rest can be found in the ruins or caves. Remember to interact with the cat before departing for the next one, or it wouldn’t count.
Cat Locations #1 and #2
Obtained in the side quest, ‘Capricious Neighbors‘, the quest will get activated after you retrieve the Moonmirror. Here we have a combo deal, both cats are part of automatic progression, and you will get both by the time you complete the side quest.
Cat Location #3
Now head south of the map, right next to the Kingdom of Huther – Western Gate guide post as marked on the image above, and you will find a black cat hiding behind the wooden railings. You will hear a meow once you get close to the cat.
Cat Location #4
Head to the Kingdom of Huther – North Gate, take the wooden bridge on the right. And you will find a grey colored cat lying down near the trees.
Cat Location #5
This one is located northwest of the Kingdom of Huther- North Gate guide post, right near the Monster Trail Cave. Head inside the cave, and you will find the white cat lying down in the corner of the rocky surroundings.
Cat Location #6
Cat number 6 is found north of the Kingdom of Huther – North Gate guide post, and south of the Mist Ruins dungeon. Head south of the Mist Ruins dungeon, and you will find the cat on the right. This cat’s greyish color does blend with the surroundings.
Cat Location #7
Now head east of Southern Whiterea, and you will find a broken-down wooden house. As you get close, you will see a white cat start to make a run for it. Chase after the cat to grab and collect it.
Cat Location #8
Now head to the Western Eddartrayl guide post, and you will find the cat lying on the ground right next to it.
Cat Location #9
Now travel to Rainbow Lotus – Approach guidepost, near the Rainbow Lotus dungeon. Get inside the dungeon, now make your way to the stairs to get to Rainbow Lotus- Sublevel One. On Sublevel One, you will find a blue treasure chest with a “Blue Rainbow Lotus Key” inside. Grab the key, and you will unlock the glowing, locked blue door near it.
Once you open the door, head inside the room, and loot the red treasure chest to get a Scythe Chain (One Star) weapon. Move to the right from the chest, and it will lead you to the orange cat lying on the upper platform.
Cat Location #10
Head to the Water Ruins Approach guidepost, near the Water Ruins dungeon, and you will find the cat lying on the coast just east of the dungeon. Just move east from the guide stone, cross the water, and you will find the brown cat by the palm tree.
Cat Location #11
Travel to Southern Westerea guidepost, and get inside the Western Caves, and you will find the black cat at the corner on the top of a ladder.
Cat Location #12
Cat number 12 is located northeast of the Garrettbelt guide post, just east of the hot springs in the area. Make your way to the Garretbelt guide post, and get to the hot springs, and you will see a white cat on the left. Once you get close to the cat, it will start to run away, so chase after the cat to collect it.
Cat Location #13
Required: Diving Manual to dive into the water.
The last cast brings us to the Water Ruins. Head to the Water Ruins Approach guidepost and enter the ruins. It’s the same ruins, where we will find the Diving Manual that allows us to dive into the water. Now solve the puzzles, and you will get inside the Water Ruins- Sublevel One. Keep moving forward, and you will find a black cat on a platform surrounded by water.
That’s it, now you have all 13/13 cats in the Age of Safekeeping.
All Cats in the Age of Reconstruction (14-25)
The Age of Reconstruction has a dozen cats scattered all around the map. One of them is part of the True ending guide route; the rest are found out in the open, just lying on the ground or inside the cave or dungeons. Some of the dungeons require you to dive into the water to gain access to their entrance.
Cat Location #14
Head northwest of Littlehope Village – Northern Entrance guide post, pass the wooden bridge on the right, keep heading north, and you will find a white cat near the waterfall.
Cat Location #15
The cat here is located northwest of the Southern Whiterea guidepost, just right of Monster Trail cave. Travel to the guidepost, and head west, and you will find the cat, right on the edge of the wooden spiky fence.
Cat Location #16
Head to the Outlands guidepost, go north, and enter the Secret Cave No.3. Inside the cave, just to your right, you will find the cat hiding in the dark. Here, you must use the Ignite Fairy Power to light the brazier to illuminate the place to locate the cat, next to the ladder.
Cat Location #17
Now we move down from the Outlands guidepost to the Northern Whiterea guidepost and head east. Head down the winding road, and you will find a yellow cat on the side. The color of the cat sticks out like a sore thumb in the surroundings.
Cat Location #18
Head to the Secret Cave No. 6, located west of Falls Caves, and follow the route until you find the exit to the outside. Get out of the cave, and you will find another entrance to the left. Head inside, and you will be in a different cave, Monster Trail No. 3.
Inside the Monster Trail no. 3, do the same as before, follow the route until it takes you to the outside, but this time, instead of taking another cave on your right, head down the path south, and you will find the cat near the tree.
Cat Location #19
Travel to the Open Plateau guidepost, and a few steps away to the east, you will find a cat lying on the ground, next to the barrels. It’s not part of some elaborate quest, nor do you have to partake in the cave’s platforming section; the cat is simply found out in the open.
Cat Location #20
Requirements: Diving Manual, which allows you to dive into the water.
This one is located near the water, north of the Open Plateau guidepost. Stick to the coastline, and dive into the water to get to the other side, and you find the cat at the corner.
Cat Location #21
Head all the way east from the Littlehope Village– Northern Entrance, and you will find the cat, near the water section, filled with waterfalls.
Cat Location #22
Head inside the Grandtree, located east of the map, next to the Grandtree Approach guidepost. On the Grandtree – Fast Level, head south, and you will come across a barricaded door. To unlock it, you will need to use Ignite Fairy Power to light the brazier. The brazier is located top-left of the barricade spot. Light the brazier, now get inside the unlocked route, follow the linear path, and you will find a set of stairs that will lead you to the Grandtree- Second Level.
Upon entering the second level, you will see moving square-shaped platforms; jump on them to carry you to the other side. Now head through the grass section on the right, and deliberately fall off the cliff to the left. Don’t cross to the other side. I’ve marked the spot where you can fall, and it will take you to the Grandtree- First Level. Now just jump on the green spot on the left, and you will find the cat lying on the ground a bit north.
Cat Location #23
Get inside the Ice Ruins dungeon located west of the Southern Whiterea guidepost, on the Ice Ruins- First Level, head left, follow the route, and you will find the cat, but the second it sees your face, it will make a run for it. So, pursue the cat to collect it.
Cat Location #24
Requirements: Diving Manual, which allows you to dive into the water.
From the Northern Whiterea guidepost, head northwest from the spot, and you will find the Falls Cave. Head south from the guidepost, and stick to the water, and it will take you to the Falls Cave at a distance.
Inside, make your way to the Falls Cave – First Level, and you will find a cat near the rocks next to a large waterfall.
Cat Location #25
Note: Linked to the Three Sages objective to unlock the True Ending in The Adventures of Elliot.
The last one is located inside Mount Phoenix, near the Mount Phoenix – Approach guidepost. You will find the cat on the right of the Mount Phoenix – First Floor. This cat is part of the Three Sage objectives that are required to complete the At The Thousand-Year Journey End, unlocking the True Ending for the game.
That’s it, now you have collected all 12/12 cats found in the Age of Reconstruction.
All Cats in the Age of Magic (26-38)
Age of Magic has 13 cats, one more than Age of Reconstruction. Just like the previous one, you will find some of the cats out in the open, lying on the ground, while others are inside dungeons and caves, and one is particularly linked to the True Ending finale of the game. Here, we will be looking at the location details for all of them.
Cat Location #26
A bit west of Weyzn, Nation of Magic – Western Gate guidepost, you will find the cat, but the second it sees your sight, it will make a run for it. So chase after the cat to collect the first one in the Age of Magic.
Cat Location #27
East of the Eastern Eddartrayl guidepost, you will find the Desert Caves, our second on the Age of Magic, located inside the cave. Make your way to Desert Caves- Sublevel One, and you will find the cat on a sandy platform, down the running sandy slope. Don’t worry, you are not going to fall into the running sand.
Cat Location #28
Now move a bit northwest of the Eastern Eddartrayl guidepost, and you will find a house with a ladder on its left. Get on the ladder and follow the route, and you will find a white cat with brown spots, near the wooden barricades, next to a giant tree.
Cat Location #29
Travel to Rainbow Lotus – Approach, head northeast of the guidepost to get into the Monster Trail No. 2 cave. Head inside the cave, and you will find a black cat on the first floor. On the first fork on the road, take the path south, and it will lead you to the cat.
Cat Location #30
The cat number 30 is a bit south of the Southern Whiterea guidepost. It’s at the corner, next to a bunch of barrels, and hiding in the shade of the trees around it.
Cat Location #31
Travel to the Neverwither guidepost, and north of the guidepost, you will find the Eastern Caves. Now go north of Eastern Caves, cross the wooden bridge over running water, and then take the ladder to the top of the platform, and you will find a white cat waiting for you.
Cat Location #32
This one is located inside the Secret Cave no.4, west of the Western Eddartrayl guidepost. Now head inside the cave, follow the linear route to find the exit. Take the exit, and you will arrive at Garretbelt, in the open area outside. Here, you will find a white cat near the exit hole on the ground.
Cat Location #33
The cat here is located inside Fire Ruins, southwest of the Garretbelt guidepost. Head inside the ruins and then make your way to the Fire Ruins- Sublevel One. After pressing some switches and defeating the monsters, you will find the way to Fire Ruins – Sublevel Two. Once you are at Sublevel two, make your way right of the area, and you will find a black cat lying on the floor, at the corner.
Cat Location #34
Head northwest of the Garretbelt guidepost, west of Western Caves, and you will find the white furry cat right on the edge, next to the barricade fence made of chains, left of the nearby small lake.
Cat Location #35
This one will take us inside the Mount Phoenix dungeon, near the Mount Phoenix – Approach guidepost. Head inside the dungeon, then turn right, then move up, jump on the platforms, and then move left. Here, dodge the fireballs launching out of the lava, and you will find an orange cat, left of the room.
Cat Location #36
Head inside the Secret Cave No. 6, located northwest of the map. Once inside, follow the route, and you will find yourself inside Monster Trail No. 3.
Once you are in Monster Trail No.3, move left, and you must go through the hidden route on the left. It leads to a small area, and you will find a cat right at the end, surrounded by clay jars.
Note: It can be quite difficult to find the road to the cat, so we have marked the spot on the map above.
Cat Location #37
This one is inside Eastern Caves, northeast of the Southern Whiterea guidepost. Get inside the cave, and now make your way up to the fresh surface. Here you will find a cat. next to an orange tree, near two stacks of rock.
Cat Location #38
Note: Linked to the Three Sages objective to unlock the True Ending in The Adventures of Elliot.
You will find the very last one inside Geared Ruins, and head inside the dungeon, and you will come across a door with two statues on both sides. You will need Wynat’s Key and Boyne’s Key to open the door and head inside. These two keys are tied to the three sages’ objective for the “At The Thousand-Year Journey End” or the True Ending in the game.
Open the door with the keys, and you will go face-to-face against Maxim Guardis, a boss fight. Defeating the boss fight unlocks the room where you can talk to the cat to get a new move for the special weapon in the game.
That’s it, now you have all 13/13 cats found in the Age of Magic.
All Cats in the Age of Budding (39-50)
Finally, we are at the very end. Now, we have 12 cats in the Age of Budding. The journey is finally over; you are just a few steps away from earning the achievement.
Cat Location #39
Head a bit west of Hitoyori – Western Entrance guidepost, south of the map, and you will find a white cat near the sakura tree by the fence. If you remember, this is around the same spot where we got our cat in the Age of Safekeeping.
Cat Location #40
Now we go southwest from the Hitoyori – Western Entrance guidepost, right on the edge, where we will find our 40th cat. Head to the coastal area, south of the guidepost, make your way to the left, and you will find a ladder to the upper region. Climb the ladder, and you will find a cat near the sakura tree at the corner.
Cat Location #41
This one is located south of the Western Eddartrayl guidepost. Just. Just head up the slope, and the route will take you to the top, where you will find a brown cat lying next to a dead tree.
Cat Location #42
Head inside the Geared Ruins, near the Geared Ruins – Approach guidepost, southwest of the map. From the first level, make your way to the Geared Ruins – Second Level. Soon, you will come across a platform section with three moving, blue glowing platforms moving in a square pattern. Jump on the platforms to get across to the other side, and you will find a white cat near the end.
Cat Location #43
Take the wooden bridge, left of the Northern Whiterea guidepost, and you will find the cat lying on the ground, immediately on the other side. The cat is hiding under the shade of the tree, but it’s an orange cat, so you can even see it from space.
Cat Location #44
Head inside Monster Trail No.5 cave, located southeast of Mount Phoenix – Approach guidepost. Inside the cave, just keep moving forward, and you will find the cat on the last platform, next to the stone ladder reaching the upper floor.
Cat Location #45
From Hitoyori – Northern Entrance guidepost, head a bit northwest from the location, and you will find a cat on your way, surrounded by palm trees.
Cat Location #46
Now we head inside the Forest Ruins dungeon, located southwest of the Southern Whiterea guidepost. Once inside the dungeon, just move to the right, and you will find the cat near the dead end.
Cat Location #47
Travel to the Southern Whiterea guidepost, and start moving northeast from the location. And you will find the cat, but it will start to run away, so chase after the cat to collect it.
Cat Location #48
For this cat, we will need to head to Dragonpillar – Approach guidepost. From the guidepost, head southeast, and you will find the cat right on the edge, surrounded by a wooden spiky fence, all around.
Cat Location #49
Make your way to Dragonpillar – Approach the guidepost, and then head inside the Dragonpillar dungeon. From the first level, move to the Dragonpillar – Sublevel One. Then continue along the route and take the stairs down to Dragonpillar- Sublevel Two.
From Sublevel Two, find the stairs to Dragonpillar- Sublevel Three. Here, you will find a bunch of standalone platforms with another platform at a distance to the left. The cat we are looking for is lying on the distant platform. Here, use the Warp Fairy Power ability to teleport to the cat’s location.
Cat Location #50
Note: Linked to the Three Sages objective to unlock the True Ending in The Adventures of Elliot.
It is also part of the Finding Three Sages objective line for the At The Thousand-Year Journey End, True Ending in the game. This one is located inside the Grandtree, so head to Grandtree- Approach guidepost, and then head inside the dungeon.
Move forward, and then take a left from the hole on the ground, follow the route, and you will find a cat on a platform surrounded by grass. It’s in the same location where we got the cat number #22 in Grandtree in the Age of Reconstruction.
With this one, you finally have the entire 12/12 cats found in the Age of Budding. Completing the final amount of cats to 50/50 in The Adventures of Elliot.
