Assault rifles are single-handedly the most used weapon type in any first-person shooter, and it holds true for XDefiant as well. An S-Tier assault rifle can hold itself decently in any given situation since that is what ARs are supposed to be good at.

Best SMGs
SMGs are the go-to and the best for the player who loves being quick and aggressive. They always provide fast movement speed while combining high close-range damage and a decent range. Best Sniper Rifles
Sniper rifles aren’t for everyone, but those who like to use them prefer a one-shot weapon with high-risk, high-reward gameplay. With only two sniper rifles currently in the XDefiant Pre-Season, there is only one clear choice here.
The Tac-50 is the best sniper rifle in XDefiant since it is the only one with high enough damage per shot to give you one-shot kills without aiming for headshots. With attachments, it can also easily compete with the other sniper rifle’s speed.
Best Marksman Rifle
If you need a middle ground between the one-shot, one-kill power of a sniper rifle and the versatility of an assault rifle, then marksman rifles are the way to go. Much like assault rifles, a marksman rifle needs to be versatile, but where ARs tend to be on the close to medium range superiority, marksman rifles do the same for medium to long range.
The MK 20 SSR is the best marksman rifle out of the two in XDefiant Pre-Season since it is best at putting down targets quickly in medium to long-range gun fights and can also hold itself in certain close-range situations.
Best Secondary Weapons
No matter what type of weapon you carry, you will always need a trusty secondary weapon by your side. A good secondary weapon can save you in a pinch by being fast and useable in any given situation, like when your primary is on reload or when you need to finish off an opponent who barely survived on low health.
