Capcom’s TGS 2025 Lineup Is Somehow Exactly What Everyone Wanted

Capcom has once again asserted its place as a gaming industry titan, and its newly unveiled Tokyo Game Show 2025 lineup is a testament to that. The company’s official website for the event, which runs from September 25 to 28 at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan, reveals a roster of games that can only be described as a dream come true for fans.

The lineup features highly anticipated titles that have been on the community’s radar for years, along with a few strategic updates to existing blockbusters. The sheer quality and fan-service nature of this list have created a collective sigh of relief and excitement, solidifying the idea that Capcom is listening to its audience.

The list of games on exhibition is led by a few heavy hitters. First and foremost, the long-awaited and almost mythic PRAGMATA is making a long-overdue appearance. After its initial reveal years ago, the sci-fi adventure has been shrouded in mystery, and its inclusion in the TGS lineup suggests that Capcom is finally ready to pull back the curtain and provide a more substantial look at the game.

Fans have been clamoring for any new information, and its presence on the show floor is a clear indication that a release date, or at the very least a significant gameplay demonstration, is imminent. This is a game that has been a symbol of Capcom’s ambition, and seeing it finally on the verge of a full reveal is a massive win for the company and its supporters.

Next on the list is a title that has been whispered about for years: Onimusha: Way of the Sword. The return of the classic samurai action series has been a fantasy for many, and Capcom is making it a reality. Onimusha was a beloved franchise from the PlayStation 2 era, and its blend of feudal Japan aesthetics, demonic enemies, and tight combat made it a fan favorite.

Way of the Sword not only marks the revival of this series but also signals a willingness from Capcom to revisit its deep and rich back catalog. The company’s recent remakes and re-imaginings of Resident Evil have been critical and commercial successes, and the potential for a new, modern Onimusha is a tantalizing prospect that has fans buzzing with anticipation.

Of course, no Capcom showcase is complete without the juggernauts. Resident Evil Requiem is a major highlight, representing the next mainline entry in the iconic survival horror franchise. Coming off the success of the recent remakes and Resident Evil Village, the series continues to evolve. While details are scarce, the title “Requiem” alone has sparked intense speculation about the game’s plot and themes. Its presence at TGS 2025 suggests that Capcom is ready to reveal more about the future of the series, potentially with a new gameplay trailer or story details that could change everything we know about the franchise’s lore.

The Monster Hunter franchise also has a commanding presence. Monster Hunter Wilds is featured, an expected but welcome addition for one of the most popular action RPGs in the world. The series’ next major installment is sure to be a focal point for the show, with fans eager for new details on its open-world design and new mechanics.

The inclusion of Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection is another pleasant surprise, providing a continuation of the spin-off series that offers a more narrative-focused, RPG experience. This shows Capcom’s commitment to growing the Monster Hunter universe beyond its traditional gameplay loop.

Street Fighter 6 Is Coming to TGS

Finally, the lineup is rounded out by the ongoing success of Street Fighter 6, which continues to receive updates and new content, and two new mobile titles: Monster Hunter Outlanders and Resident Evil: Survival Unit. While the mobile market is a different beast, these games show Capcom’s strategic intent to expand its franchises to new platforms and audiences.

In a world where E3 is a thing of the past and major publishers are opting for their own standalone digital events, Tokyo Game Show remains a critical stage for Japanese developers. We’ll likely see other publishers push big games in this showcase.
