GTA 6 will be released on the yet-to-be-announced Nintendo Switch 2, according to the rumor mill.
The news comes from Necro Felipe, Editor-in-Chief at Brazilian gaming news outlet Universo Nintendo. They specified that this could only happen if Switch 2 features Ray Tracing and Retro Reflection (RT + RR).
Felipe’s original tweet was about the possibility of these two new-age graphic rendering techniques being included in the Switch 2. According to them, the inclusion of RT + RR in the upcoming handheld console will enable gaming publishers to release high-end titles on the platform, similar to current-gen PlayStation and Xbox consoles.
The current Nintendo Switch lacks the processing power for most AAA games that run effortlessly on Xbox and PS.

The original tweet translated into English reads as follows:
OPINION: If RT + RR is confirmed on the next Nintendo Switch, we will have an unprecedented generation of 100% simultaneous future releases + content parity with Xbox and PlayStation. I was already expecting something, given the projects that are talked about ‘behind the curtains’, but this excites me much more.
Nintendo Switch 2 Could Feature 12 GB RAM
Based on various rumors and leaks that have surfaced over the past few months, it is very likely that Nintendo Switch 2 will feature best-in-class hardware. Many gaming insiders have claimed that Nintendo had showcased Switch 2 to select industry members.
According to them, the console features a powerful 12 GB RAM, support for Ray Tracing and DLSS, and ran the demonstration of Matrix Revelations (powered by Unreal Engine 5) smoothly. If this is to be true, it wouldn’t be much of a surprise if GTA 6 does indeed make an appearance on Nintendo’s next-gen console.

Apart from discussing the possibility of the inclusion of RT + RR, Felipe also hinted towards holding some crucial ‘behind-the-curtain’ information about certain upcoming projects. In the comments section of the original tweet, a fan asked Felipe whether they believe GTA 6 will be released on Switch 2, to which they replied ‘Sim’, meaning yes.
GTA 6 On Switch 2: Too Good To Be True?
It is important to note that this rumor should be taken with a grain of salt, as Nintendo hasn’t made any announcements whatsoever regarding Switch 2. Furthermore, despite countless rumors and speculations, Rockstar Games is also yet to make any official announcement regarding the release of GTA 6.
Felipe has also clearly stated that this is their own ‘opinion’, rather than prediction. However, considering the growing speculations about Switch 2’s capabilities, it wouldn’t be too far of a stretch.
