The next batch of games coming to the PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium game catalog has been revealed by the ever-reliable data miner and leaker Billbil-kun.
Sony is expected to unveil the games for this month later this week on October 11, while they are expected to join the PS Plus on October 17. Although around 20 games will be added to the subscriptions, it’s almost sure that the following eight games will be added to the catalog:
- Gotham Knights
- The Dark Pictures Anthology: House of Ashes
- Disco Elysium The Final Cut
- Far: Changing Tides
- Gungrave G.O.R.E.
- Elite Dangerous
- Dead Island Definitive Edition
- Alien: Isolation
While a few simple words could never do justice to any game, we have compiled some information about the popular ones below.
Gotham Knights
Gotham Knights is a third-person perspective action RPG game published by Warner Bros. Games. The game focuses on the Batman family – Batgirl, Nightwing, Red Hood, and Robin, who are now on a mission to sweep the streets of Gotham. You can take up the role of each playable character to traverse through the city, undertake main and side missions, and level up. The game also features a co-op mode, where you can pair up with a friend to progress through the game.
The game was never able to rack up the best stores on Steam, mainly due to poor combat, subpar graphics, and a predictable storyline.
Alien: Isolation
Alien: Isolation is a popular survival horror game published by Sega in 2014. The game is a sequel to the 1979 film Alien and is set 15 years after the film’s events. The protagonist Amanda is aboard a space station to investigate the disappearance of her mother, but to her horror, she must find an escape from the ship as a hostile Alien is on the pursue. Like any other horror game, Alien: Isolation focuses on stealth, and you have to complete different objectives without being defeated.
Alien: Isolation was a success and sold over two million copies in just one year of its release. The game received positive reviews and was appraised by the fans for its futuristic art direction, sound design, and use of Artificial Intelligence.
Disco Elysium – The Final Cut
Disco Elysium – The Final Cut is the definitive edition of the 2019 roleplaying game developed and published by ZA/UM. The game features a meticulously crafted world from an isometric perspective in which the player can be controlled. You take up the role of a detective who is working on a murder case. With a unique skill system, you must traverse through the city interrogating characters, taking bribes, and unraveling the world of Revachol. The game is interestingly handled through dialogue trees and a number of skills that can be improved by leveling up.
The Final Cut released in March 2021 is the expanded version of the original game with full voice acting and has 93% positive user reviews on Steam.
