PS5 Slim Release Date Leaked

PS5 Slim, the long-anticipated update of Sony’s current-gen gaming console, has been rumored to release next month. According to the popular gaming insider and leaker, Billbil-Kun, Sony will be releasing this lighter and slimmer updated design on November 10, 2023, in the US. A number of online retailers in the US as well as Japan have started accepting pre-orders for PS5 Slim.

PS5 Slim Game Bundle Leaked

Apart from the imminent release date, Billbil-Kun has also revealed one of the very first game bundles for PS5 Slim. While the standalone console will be released on Nov 10, the leaker predicts that Sony will release a PS5 Slim + Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 bundle on Nov 8, 2023. According to the leaker, this version releasing in the US, will cost around $559.99 (i.e. the same price as the standard PS5 + Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 bundle)

The leaker anticipates that a digital copy of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will be presented to the purchasers of this bundle, similar to the digital game copies offered by Sony in their earlier PS5 game bundles.

PS5 Slim Specifications

As announced by Sony Interactive Entertainment a couple of days ago, this new PlayStation 5 version will feature an updated, slimmer design, as well as increased internal storage capacity. The slim version will feature an internal storage of 1 TB, as opposed to the current versions of the console that offer 825 GB internal storage. 

According to Sony, the PS5 Slim will feature a significantly smaller form factor, a reduction in volume by more than 30% (compared to present variants), and a loss of weight by 18% and 24% compared to the PS5 Digital Edition and PS5 Standard Edition. The design has also been revamped to offer a significantly sleeker look.

Unlike the PlayStation 5 consoles currently present in the market, the base variant of the new console will be a digital version, with an option for the buyers to purchase the removable disc drive separately. This removable, ultra-HD Blu-ray disc drive will set the customer back by $49.99/ 119.99 EUR.

Similar to the original PS5 variants, the new version of this console will include a horizontal stand in the original packaging. However, with the new version, Sony is also reportedly releasing a vertical stand for the console. The vertical stand can be purchased separately and is priced at $29.99 / €29.99 /. £24.99 / 3,980 JPY.
