Bethesda recently posted a tweet saying no physical editions of Starfield will include discs, before promptly deleting the post. However, in one of the threads by Bethesda Español, on June 13, the developer had disclosed that not every edition will give players the access for a physical disc of the game.

Starfield Constellation Edition may not include a disc
The translated tweet reads:
‘Hello partners! It depends on the edition. For example, the standard has a disc, while the Constellation Edition has a code engraved on a collector’s item, which you can see in the image‘.
This comment was posted in response to a fan inquiring about the availability of physical disc in the Constellation edition.
Judging from this tweet, the top-tier Starfield Constellation Edition seems to have been treated like modern-day digital deluxe editions, apart from the physical items available to the purchasers of this edition. Purchasers will be offered collectibles and a unique code that will allow them to download the game.
However, it seems that players opting for a physical Standard Edition will gain access to a physical disc.
Decision of not including discs in physical edition of Starfield shocks netizens
This decision has sparked a debate amongst netizens. However, a large number of fans does seem disappointed with the developer’s decision to remove the physical disc from the most sought-after Constellation Edition.

I can’t imagine buying a game at a store and you don’t have the right to trade it, give it to a buddy , or burn it.

But it still feels wrong
Some are speculating that this decision may have stemmed from the massive file size of Starfield, which could be forcing the developer to offer even the base variant of the game in a digital format.

Some fans, however, are supporting Bethesda’s decision to not include physical copies. Some believe this to be the new standard, other believing that digital copies are the best way to go about gaming these days, considering they can’t be ruined and can be downloaded multiple times based on the player’s requirements.

However, Bethesda is yet to officially announce anything and the decision to delete the tweet certainly points that the decision is yet to be made. With a couple of months to launch date, it’s highly possible that Bethesda may reconsider their decision and opt for offering game disc copies in every physical edition of Starfield.
