The release of Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown is potentially delayed until the first quarter of 2024. This information came to light in the recent documents published by Nacon Gaming, parent company of the game’s developer Kylotonn.
Initially, the sim racing game was supposed to release in late 2023 for PC, PS5, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox Series X|S. However, Kylotonn is yet to officially announce any delays in the release window.
Page 80 of the aforementioned document reveals the release roadmap for Nacon Gaming’s lineup for the financial year 2023-24. As per the lineup, Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown will release in February or March of 2024. This roadmap also includes plans for PS4 and Xbox One releases of the title, which were previously reported to be omitted by the developer in order to offer the highest quality gameplay and visual performance for the players.
Fans believe The Crew: Motorfest to be the reason behind the delay of the Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown
Fans of the Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown are confused over this delay. The game was announced in 2016 and the developers haven’t published any concrete footage or even artwork for the upcoming title. However, some believe that Nacon Gaming is playing it safe, trying to avoid a clash with The Crew Motorfest, which is scheduled to release on September 11, 2023.
While some rumors surfaced which indicated that the developers are conducting playtests for the Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown recently, none has sufficient credibility. Apart from the fact that the game will feature an interactive supercar showroom, take place in Hong Kong, and include licensed versions of top-tiered supercars in the world, not much is known about this next installment in the popular Test Drive Unlimited series.
Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown is the third mainline entry in the Test Drive Unlimited series, and the 21st game in the Test Drive series.
