Many players are getting stuck on one of the objectives in the chapter Counterfeit 1 in Modern Warfare DMZ. The mission is about collecting counterfeit cash from North Korean soldiers. While it sounds simple, many players are not getting any form of cash after killing an ungodly number of NK soldiers, so the progression is being halted. If you are having problems with the objective and not getting the counterfeit cash, then you are in the right place.
In this guide, I will guide you on how to get and farm counterfeit cash from NK soldiers in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4 DMZ. The game does give you a chance to grind them out to complete the objective if you didn’t get a good amount of cash the first time, so they are not technically missable or will make you restart from the checkpoint.
How to Collect Counterfeit Cash From North Korean Soldiers
You must kill NK soldiers pinged from the UAV tower and then loot their corpses to get the counterfeit cash drop from NK soldiers. Notice the emphasis on “Pinged”. The Execute Intel of the chapter, Counterfeit, will have the objective “Loot Counterfeit Cash Dropped By Pinged NK Soldiers.” The game leads you to the Deadtown area by having the first objective on the Execute Intel: “Hack a UAV Tower in Deadtown.“
You need to head over to the Deadtown area, northwest of the map. Once you are in the spot, climb onto the rooftops to find a UAV tower. Since it’s a tower, it can easily be spotted from a distance; just look out on the rooftops of the building to find one. The UAV towers are completely different from the common Radio Towers found in the game. Get close to the tower and interact to activate it. Once activated, you must kill North Korean soldiers within the tower’s radius to get your luck at the currency drop. Any enemies near the tower will get pinged; you should aim at the pinged targets to get a chance at the currency drops.
One thing I would like to point out: “Kill Five UAV-Pinged NK Soldiers” is a different objective, separate from “Loot Counterfeit Cash from a Marked Soldier“. You will not get the counterfeit cash after killing 5 marked soldiers from a UAV scan, so always check their bodies to collect the cash.
Note: You can use the Task tracker during combat to keep track of the counter. If the counter is stopped, then you might want to restart the UAV tower to go at it again.
The Deadtown takes place outside, so you will have an easier time picking enemies and dropping them. Not all the NK soldiers will drop the counterfeit cash; that’s why you should rather set your goal to killing as many NK soldiers as possible in the area, again within the UAV radius.
Can You Farm Counterfeit Cash From NK Soldiers?
Yes, you can use the UAV tower to grind the currency. Once the UAV tower shuts off, you can head back to the location and kickstart it again to follow the same gameplay loop. Here, you will get the option to reactivate after interacting with the display screen under the tower. On your first UAV activation, if you managed to kill a few enemies, then the best option is to reactivate again to get enough counterfeit cash.
You don’t have to grind the currencies, as they serve no purpose in the game besides completing the primary objective.
