Hysilens is a powerful 5-star Physical Nihility unit who primarily functions as a DoT character in Honkai: Star Rail. The DoT mechanic was initially introduced in the first year of the game, but it never took off since the standard Crit playstyle was always a step ahead. Hysilens solves that problem, which has earned her the title of savior of DoT.
Hysilens relies on other DoT characters in the team for optimal performance, as her abilities require inflicting status effects on enemies and triggering them eventually. This makes her a little restrictive in terms of tam compositions, but the investment is worth the effort due to her potential as a character.
Hysilens Premium Team in Honkai: Star Rail
Hysilens Premium Team in the game consists of Kafka, Ruan Mei, and Huohuo. In this team, Kafka is the second DoT character alongside Hysilens, while Ruan Mei and Huohuo enhance the damage output of the DPS units. In this team, Kafka will inflict the enemy with Lightning Status Effects, while Hysilens will inflict them with Physical Status Effects. Both of these DoT effects, once triggered, will deal massive damage to the enemy. Additionally, Hysilens increases the damage taken by enemies by reducing their DEF stats, which benefits both herself as well as Kafka. Hysilens can also inflict Wind Shear, Burn, or Shock, through her Talent, which synergizes with Kafka’s DoT application. You also need to remember that Kafka received a buff too, which has turned her into one of the strongest characters in the game, thereby enabling this Premium team.
Ruan Mei is the primary support here as she can increase the DMG dealt by the team, increase their SPD, and Weakness Break Efficiency. Additionally, she can also delay the enemy’s recovery after they have been Weakness Broken, which further helps Hysilens and Kafka and inflict their Status Effects even more efficiently.
Huohuo is also a crucial addition to this team since she can heal the entire party and remove any debuffs on them. However, her biggest strength is that she can increase ATK boost for the entire party, which is a powerful enhancement for the DoT team. This is because the damage dealt by DoT characters primarily scales off ATK, and Huohuo directly buffs that stat without any other unnecessary boosts such as Crit Rate or Crit DMG.
Hysilens General Team in Honkai: Star Rail
The General Team for Hysilens in Honkai: Star Rail comprises Kafka, Black Swan, and Huohuo. In this team, Hysilens and Kafka perform similar roles as the Premium team, but Black Swan is the third source of DoT, which benefits the other two quite efficiently. In this team, Hysilens and Kafka complement each other incredibly well, similar to how they do in the Premium Team. The Lightning and Physical Status Effects deal a lot of damage to enemies, which helps clear endgame content with ease. However, Kafka as a character benefits when there are multiple DoT characters present in a team.
Black Swan is the third addition to the General Team as she replaces Ruan Mei. You may think it’s a detriment, but that’s not the case since she can inflict Wind Shear on enemies, which helps out Kafka even more in triggering the DoT effects and dealing heavy damage. The presence of Physical, Lightning, and Wind in a single team makes it easy to clear all kinds of content with varying elemental requirements. With three DoT characters in the team, Hysilens can also inflict Burn due to her Talent, which means enemies will be inflicted by all four Status Effects (Bleed, Wind Shear, Shock, Burn) present in the game.
Huohuo once again plays the role of Support here as she will heal the entire party and make sure nobody gets affected by enemy debuffs. Her ability to boost the team’s attack is also valuable, since in the General Team, she also helps buff Black Swan and increase her Wind Shear damage.
Hysielns F2P Team in Honkai: Star Rail
Hysilens F2P team in Honkai: Star Rail consists of Serval, Asta, and Lynx. In this team, Serval plays the DoT enabler as there isn’t any other F2P character who can perform this role. Asta is a pretty decent Harmony unit who synergizes with DoT teams quite well. The various characters and the roles they play have been listed in the following table.

In this team, Hysilens and Serval need to work together to inflict the enemy with Physical and Lightning Status Effects, respectively. Here, Hysilens will have to do most of the heavy lifting since she is the 5-star character and will rely on dealing the most damage. However, Serval will inflict Lightning, and if you build her properly and max out her stats, the damage isn’t too bad either.
Asta is a very good F2P support who can buff SPD and ATK for the entire party. There is no other F2P support who can do it so efficiently, and you must build her to make this team functional. Lynx is the healer for this team, and she is pretty good as she can also remove Debuffs from allies. However, she doesn’t provide any other buffs and simply exists to keep the team alive in Honkai: Star Rail endgame content.
