When you are starting any game, the last thing you want to think about is missing a collectible, especially if a game has plenty of them. After completing the prologue, REPLACED puts you in the first chapter of the game, which has plenty of collectibles and upgrades – some of them in plain sight, and others hidden in the dark corners of the area.
Here we will list out all the complete walkthrough for Chapter 1 in REPLACED, including 100% collectibles.

It Begins
Chapter 1 opens up with Reach getting up after taking the dive into the sewer at the end of the prologue. There is no way out. Move to the right until you get to the First Aid sign in the background, with an arrow pointing to the Med-Stim. On your way, you will find the coat and the gun. While the coat will give you warmth from the cold, the gun is completely useless (it comes in incredibly handy later). After finding the Med-Stim, heal yourself by pressing “Tab”; now you will be able to walk and jump freely around the area.
No need to head back, there are no collectibles there. Just keep moving forward. You will reach your first platforming section, just time your jump, and you will easily get across to the other side.
Music Track #1: Lab Rat

Here, you will spot a dollhouse on the ground, scan the house to unlock the Music Track Lab Rat. Keep moving to your right, now a different platforming encounter, jump, and Reach will automatically grab the pipes on the fence, now use the movement keys to get to the right. Continue heading down to your right until you climb the ladder to get outside of the sewer.
Combat Encounter #1

Now the route is pretty straightforward without any platforming, just keep moving to the right until you jump onto the ladder of a building. Once you are on the rooftop, after a brief walk, the floor will break, and you will fall right through it. Now, you will enter a combat scenario:
- Dodge three attacks: Just press Space when you see red alert indicators over the enemy’s head. These attacks can’t be countered; they must be dodged.
- Counter three attacks: Press RMB when you see the yellow alert indicator over the enemy’s head. And yes, you can dodge them.
That’s it, now the game will throw a couple of enemies for you to defeat. Use counters and dodges to avoid getting hit during the combat. Here are some of the helpful combat tips:
- You have the option to glide-kick enemies. If you are not too close to the enemy, you can pull up the kick move by performing an LMB attack or a common attack at a little distance from the enemy. If you are too close, Reach will always pull out his baton to hit them.
- Suppose you want to continue the combo, even if the combo meter is not present in the game. Just press dodge to cover the gaps between enemies to hit them. It will create a flow in the combat system, chaining your combo from one enemy to another, giving the Arkham-Vibe.
- Don’t attack when the enemy has a red or yellow indicator; it will not get cancelled. Unlike Arkham-Games, here, hitting enemies when they are attacking you doesn’t stun or cancel the attacks. Avoid doing that; if you are playing the game on Hard, you will suffer a lot of damage.
Scannable Object – Survivor’s Memoir

A bit right, within the combat room, you will find a scannable object, “Survivor’s Memoir”.
Scannable Object – The Catastrophe 20 Years Later

Get out of the room, move to the right, until you are at the dead end, you will find another scannable object, “The Catastrophe 20 Years Later.”
Combat Encounter #2
Now push the yellow cart into the room, where we found the scannable paper, climb on the cart, and use the poles to get to the building’s rooftop. Just move to the right. After a few platforming sections, you will enter a new combat arena filled with RVs.
Scannable Object: Board Game Box

Defeat the enemies, and on the right, you will find a scannable object, “Board Game Box.”
Scannable Object: Goodbye Letter

The route now is pretty linear; just move to the right until you come across a road that leads to the city at a distance. Don’t hit Proceed, or E, instead move to the right to find the scannable object,” Goodbye Letter.”
Enter the City

Now you can press Proceed to enter the city. A loading screen later, you will finally be in the city. The route is clear; just move to the right. On your way, you will find some logs blocking your path. Press Space to jump over the logs. If you press the space or jump button close to the logs, then you will trip and fall on the road.
The jumping in this game is a bit clunky. I recommend pressing the jump button a few feet away from the log, so your character doesn’t trip and fall, which will result in death in chase sequences. After a few jumps and a scenic route later, the daytime will turn into night. And you will be hunted by the guards in a vehicle with a red spotlight.
Stealth, Hide and Cover

In the stealth section, move from cover to cover, don’t get spotted, or it will result in immediate death. While you can rush it, if you are a few milliseconds late, you will die. One time, I died by getting caught with 0.1 percent of the spotlight. So make sure to hide behind the cover to stay safe. There is no timer to this sequence, so take your time and move cautiously.
Health Upgrade #1: Genetic Profile

After the stealth section, you will land on the back of the diner. Don’t move to the right; check out the corner on the left to find the health upgrade, “Genetic Profile.”
Scannable Object: Eviction Notice

Move to the right until you arrive at the coffee shop location, here under the street light, you will find another scannable object, “Eviction Notice.” Head left from the scannable object location, and climb on the yellow truck. Now, jump and swing on the pole to get to the top of the Coffee Shop. Here, use the yellow beams to the top, and then make a jump to the right.
Combat Encounter #3

A bit of pole swinging later, you will be in a semi-dark room with a yellow crate in the middle. Push the crate to the right so it will drop on the ground. Head down to the street level, and push the cart all the way to the right. Now climb on the crate to get inside the vent into the building. After a bit of crawling in the vents, you will get dropped onto the floor filled with small-time mobs.
Here, we get introduced to new enemies along with the common enemies that we dealt with before. This one will have a gun, and these enemies always shoot at you at terrible moments. You can easily get caught in their line of sight. Every time they are ready to fire, the white laser will get pointed at you. After a few seconds, the laser will turn red, and the gun will be fired.
The best thing to do here, for now, is to dodge the gunshots by pressing Space when the laser from the gun turns red. Don’t do an early dodge, or you will get caught in the line of sight and take a hit. Always wait, and once the laser turns red, press Space to dodge it.
Scannable Object” Pawn Shopkeeper’s Note

Defeat everyone and scan the object on the right, ‘Pawn Shopkeeper’s Note.’
Now move to the right, climb the stairs, either one doesn’t really matter. The route is on your right, and you will see an enemy guard spotlight focused on the road. Getting caught will be an immediate death. Here we enter another stealth sequence.
Now you have to get to the other side with the moving crate as a cover to stay unseen.
Here, hide behind the cart to stay out of the spotlight, and now move the cart only when the spotlight is not focused on it. If you do move the cart with the spotlight focused on it, the bullet will pierce through the cart and kill you instantly.
Combat Encounter #4
So, make sure to move the cart without getting caught in the spotlight to move to the other side. Use the cart to climb onto the building on the right. Follow the linear path to enter the combat encounter in the area.
Scannable Object: Preacher’s Diary

After defeating all of them, move to the right, and you will find the collectible, “Preacher’s Diary.”
Combat Encounter #5
Follow the linear route, and you will find another common enemy encounter. Defeat all of them, again, move to the right, and you will get chased by the enemy’s spotlight. Just focus on running to the right until you are safe.
Puzzle Section

After a brief walk, you will enter a new room with a gap dividing the platform. The goal is to get to the other side. You can try to jump, but you will not make it far. You will need to move the shelf under the gap to reduce the gap to make the jump.
Here, climb down the stairs, grab the battery sitting in the middle of the room, and insert it into the generator on the right. It will power up the computer on its left, interact with it to move the shelf under the gap between the platforms.
Scannable Objects: Inaugural Address/ Archived Poster

Now climb the stairs and jump over the gap to the other side. Don’t proceed to the next area; instead, take the stairs to scan two objects: “Inaugural Address”/ “Archived Poster.”
Final Combat Encounter

Now proceed to the next area to start the final combat encounter in this chapter. Prepare to face all the common enemies that we already dealt with in this chapter, but with one special guest. The big guy.
Take out all the small enemies first before going to the big apple. The best way to defeat the big guy is to hit him once and roll to his back and repeat until he dies. If you are playing on Hard, the best technique I could come up with is to always stay in front of him and hit and dodge to his front.
If you are standing in front of the boss, it will only swing once in front of him. If you roll to his back, there is a chance he will perform a double swing. This cheese move might make the fight a bit longer, but if you have one or two hearts left, and you are playing on Hard, this is a lifesaver that got me out of many rough situations.
Once the combat is over, move to the right, and you will get to meet with Tempest, and that’s it, you have completed Chapter 1.
