In Search of the Ascension Mushroom is an early-stage quest in DragonSword Awakening. This quest is vital for unlocking a very important mechanic in the game that will be very useful in your adventure and trials going forward: cooking. It is a short and simple quest that doesn’t even need you to fight any enemies to complete. There are no downsides to doing this quest, and no way to fail this mission.
So, I recommend that you finish this quest as soon as you get it from Guild Quest Receptionist: Anne.
How To Start In Search of the Ascension Mushroom Quest
This quest is obtained by talking to Guild Quest Receptionist: Anne, who is found early on by just progressing the mainline story quest. Afterwards, you have to move outside the Orbis Royal Castle to find Guard Bart. Talk to him to initiate the hunt for the Ascension Mushroom.
How to Complete In Search of the Ascension Mushroom Quest
You have to head to three locations, pick up three mushrooms, and then bring them back to Guard Bart. The locations themselves are marked on the map above for your convenience. Make sure to follow the in-game marker, as the second mushroom will likely not spawn before you pick up the first mushroom. The quest objectives are as follows:
- Talk to Anne the Guild Receptionist
- Talk to Guard Bart
- Find the Ascension Mushroom I
- Find the Ascension Mushrooms II
- Find the Ascension Mushrooms III
- Talk to Guard Bart
- Cooking Ascension Mushrooms
Note: The first two objectives will already be completed if you have followed the steps of this guide properly till now. You will now have to find the Ascension Mushrooms and just take them back to Guard Bart.
Find the Ascension Mushroom I
Your first objective is to find the first mushroom. Follow the map marker to the above-shown location. Using a mount will significantly reduce your travel time between locations. Here, interact with the mushroom on the ground to start the next objective.
Find the Ascension Mushroom II
The second mushroom is found just about 60 meters south of the first mushroom, right next to a big tree. You can see it from the location of the first mushroom.
Find the Ascension Mushroom III
The final mushroom is located south-west of the second mushroom. Climb on top of the huge rock structure to find the final piece of the puzzle. Now, you will be directed to take these mushrooms back to Guard Bart.
Your quest marker will now change to cooking the Ascension Mushroom. This final step is easy. Look in the direction that Bart is facing to find a cooking pot. Interact with this and cook the Ascension Mushrooms.
Finally, talk to Guard Bart again to finish the quest. You will get 10,000 coins, 450 experience, and some cooked food as your reward. More importantly, this will also unlock the cooking mechanic so you can cook your own food whenever you want; and hopefully not need to revive any heroes in the middle of combat.
