This DragonSword Awakening Mount guide will show you all the familiars you can unlock in the game and how to do so. There are many different creatures that you can ride around, most of whom boast different traversal abilities. You can get at least one version of all of these (barring the Deluxe Edition exclusive Brave Baby Dragon) from completing in-game tasks, while other versions might be locked behind other challenges or the DLC.

Best Mounts To Unlock Early in DragonSword Awakening

As you can see above, half of the mounts can be unlocked by simply buying the DLC. However, if you don’t want to buy it, then here are the best early-game mounts to aim for:

• Sandstorm Sky Wolf: Bought for 300,000 Gold. Getting money is not the hardest challenge in the game, and if you aim for this, then it can be accumulated quite fast. The Underwater Dash ability is also quite handy to have.
• Guardian Gryphon: Defeating World Bosses 30 times will take some time, but not as much as the rest of the challenges.
• Bright Crowtit: Easy unlock condition, since you only need to get promoted to Novice Mercenary Rank, while providing you with a great Air Dash ability.
• Insects: The other bugs in this category are easy to acquire and give a pretty good stamina boost when unlocked.
• Refreshing Canary: Complete 20 mini-games. Although this can take a while longer to unlock compared to the above-mentioned ones, it is still worth the wait.

You get the Robust Stag Beetle at the start of the game, and getting any more mounts in the Insect category will increase the stamina of all of your familiars, making it a worthwhile investment. Apart from these two, the rest of the mounts will take some time to unlock or do not offer a significant enough mobility boost.

Apart from these mounts, you should also aim to make the best teams in the game, while equipping them with the right equipment and gear. These will go a long way in making exploration a smooth experience.
