However, things can always change as Activision prepares for what is set to be a hugely popular entry into the first-person shooter franchise.
Can You Use Black Ops 7 XP Tokens in Modern Warfare 4?
Yes! You can use any stored Black Ops 7 XP Tokens in Modern Warfare 4. This is certainly good news if you’re planning on levelling up as fast as possible as soon as the servers are switched on. Call of Duty’s community X account confirmed the news on August 6th, 2026.
This means all of your Double XP, Double Weapon XP, and Double Battle Pass XP Tokens will be available to use when Modern Warfare 4 releases on October 23rd. To use the Battle Pass XP Tokens, you’ll have to wait until the start of Season 1, when a fresh batch of content arrives in multiplayer, DMZ, and Warzone.
How Do Modern Warfare 4 Double XP Tokens Work?
XP Tokens in Modern Warfare 4 follow the same formula as Black Ops 7. As soon as a Token is activated, the clock starts ticking down to zero. For example, if you’ve activated a one-hour Token, you have an hour of real time to maximise your earnings in-game. I recommend spending minimal time fine-tuning a loadout and getting straight into matches to earn as much XP as possible.
Real-time XP Tokens continue to split the opinions of the community, with fans often calling upon Activision to change the system to only consider in-game time. For now, the XP Token timer will continue to run outside of matches, so be sure to make the most of the time while it’s active.
Can You Transfer COD Points to Modern Warfare 4?
Just like XP Tokens, you can transfer COD Points over to Modern Warfare 4 when the game releases. Any points stored on your account will remain on the same platform and ecosystem where they were purchased.
If you bought COD Points on PlayStation, they’ll stay on PlayStation. If you decide to move from PlayStation to Battle.net, the points will not transfer over. Be sure to keep this in mind if you’re thinking about moving platforms for the new release.
