In my playthrough of The Blood of Dawnwalker, I was able to find 11 Scouting Towers scattered throughout the map of Val Sangora. And I must be honest, climbing them is far from busywork. It is rewarding, as it helps you stop wandering the map blind. Each of the towers reveals nearby points of interest once you reach the top. This makes them important in your playthrough.
Moreover, I would also recommend prioritizing them early in the game rather than saving for later. In this guide, I will explain how to unlock all of them.
How to Unlock and Climb Scouting Towers in The Blood of Dawnwalker
In The Blood of Dawnwalker, the Scouting Towers can only be climbed at night. During the day, Coen simply doesn’t have access to the vampiric powers that you require to scale the structures. Here’s what you have to do to climb the towers at night:
- Reach the base of the tower and make sure to clear out all enemies who are guarding the structure. Both soldiers and specters will show up in these locations regularly.
- Use your Shadowstep ability, which will help you teleport up sheer walls that are otherwise unclimbable.
- Then use Planeshift to scale broken walls and scaffolding on the tower to reach the top.
- Once you have reached the vantage point at the summit, you can press the given prompt on landmarks in the area to survey them.
Doing this activity will help populate your map with question marks for collectibles, activities, and other points of interest. Hence, a single climbing session can actually save you from a lot of blind exploration. I would also advise you to loot all the chests and containers near the base and top of each tower while you are climbing them.
Some of the towers have good loot that is worth grabbing. However, many don’t offer anything at all, beyond the map reveal itself.
All 11 Scouting Tower Locations in The Blood of Dawnwalker

The Scouting Towers are scattered throughout the map, and it may take you some time to explore to get all of them. Here’s the list of locations:
| Tower | Region | Rewards |
| Laslea Glen (Church Tower) | Southwest of Laslea village | Aether Flow Manual |
| Briar Sloughs Tower | South of Laslea Glen and near the river | Amalgam Manual |
| Maragir Wealds Tower | Eastern side of Maragir Wealds region | Blasphemous Echo Manual |
| Boar’s Back Tower | West of Svartrau City, in Shrike’s Craig | Potent Blood Manual and Duelist’s Pendant |
| Neustadt Tower (Svartrau City) | In the battlements of the southwestern part of the Capital city | None |
| Market Tower (Svartrau City) | Located in the north-central part of the city | None |
| Cathedral Tower (Svartrau City) | The city’s central cathedral rooftop | None |
| St. Tyna’s Grove Tower | In St. Tyna’s Grove, between one of Ambru’s outposts and an ancient circle. | Forbidden Sigils Manual |
| Tantari Tower | In the northwest side of Tantari Woods | Lasting Medication Manual |
| Silts Tower (Rockfalls Tower) | On the southwest edge of the map | Blasphemous Echo Manual |
| Silts Tower (Aurelius Tower) | Near the Silts area, south of the Church | Unnatural Resilience Manual |
When heading to the southwestern Svartrau City tower, I must warn you that you will be walking into guarded battlements. Hence, use your Shadowstep ability to reach the rooftop directly, instead of approaching on foot. The guards there will immediately turn hostile if they see you trespassing at the ground level.
What are the Best Skills to Acquire First for Tower Climbing in The Blood of Dawnwalker
The Blood of Dawnwalker does not offer you any mount to ride. This means getting between towers comes down to two specific skills:
Shapeshift: This skill can be found in the Vampirism skill tree and allows Coen to transform into a wolf at night. This also grants him a major speed boost.
Mercurial Fervor: This skill can be found in the Witchcraft skill section. It adds to Coen’s movement speed, allowing him to be faster.
My advice is to pick both of these skills as early as possible to cover the distance between locations in the spread-out map. These are especially useful when you are trying to unlock all the Scouting Towers with ease in The Blood of Dawnwalker. When it comes to finding the towers outside of Svartrau City, I found these skills to be even more helpful.
What Do You Get for Climbing All 11 Scouting Towers

Outside of the usual benefits of revealing points of interest on your map, climbing all 11 Scouting Towers in The Blood of Dawnwalker will unlock the Bird’s Eye View achievement. This trophy is quite straightforward to chase, as none of the towers are missable. Moreover, they are also not tied to any irreversible story choices.
That ends the guide for all the tower locations and how to unlock them in Rebel Wolves’ latest RPG title. I highly recommend unlocking all the Scouting Towers right after the prologue ends, as you are free to explore the world after that.
