Phantom Blade Zero offers you a total of four Sha-Chi Fragments, or Shards, as many would call them, across Weeping Creek Valley. Grabbing them all offered me one of the cleaner early-game upgrades that helped me progress and beat bosses with ease. The equivalent of Idunn Apples in God of War Ragnarok, once you find all of them, the game automatically combines them into a single Sha-Chi Amber that permanently raises your maximum Sha-Chi.
Sha-Chi is a central combat energy resource in the game; hence, upgrading it to the maximum capacity is one of the best things you can do to progress. It is a combined gauge for special attacks, stamina, and posture. That said, upgrading it requires you to hunt down these fragments. In this guide, I will explain how you can collect all the Sha-Chi fragments across the Weeping Creek Valley.
All 4 Sha-Chi Amber Fragment Locations in Weeping Creek Valley
Here’s a quick rundown of all of Phantom Blade Zero’s Sha-Chi Amber Fragment locations in Weeping Creek Valley, before I explain the complete routes:

- Broken Puppet Valley: This is the first one I collected in the area. It can be found in a purple chest after clearing enemies that drop the red thread barrier. It is located south of the Broken Puppet Valley Bell.

- Rustblade Pavilion path: This Sha-Chi Amber Fragment is dropped by the enemies who ambush you past the Rustblade Pavilion Bell. It can be easily acquired if you follow the main story.

- Outpost: When looking for this fragment, you can find it after you smash the chain wall, which is located north of the Outpost Bell, with the Dread Axe.

- Long Pillar Overlook / Creek Valley Plains: This one can be found inside the locked cave that you open with the Rusted Loong Key.
Complete Routes for Each Sha-Chi Amber Fragment in Phantom Blade Zero’s Weeping Creek Valley
Weeping Creek Valley is the first area in your journey right after the prologue chapters in Phantom Blade Zero. Two of the main story quests, “Against the Flow” and “Steel and Steam”, are found here. While you are following the main story, I found it beneficial to explore the area in order to find collectibles such as the Sha-Chi Amber Fragments that help you upgrade your character for the journey ahead.
Here’s the complete route for each fragment in the area:
Broken Puppet Valley Fragment

To find this one, simply head south from the Broken Puppet Valley bell along the main path. You will run into a group of enemies there that includes a headless knight with a shield. You have to clear them out to progress.

The fight itself will cause the red threads blocking the mountain path to vanish. After you have dealt with the foes, open the purple glowing chest for the fragment.
Rustblade Pavilion Fragment

Go up the stairs from the Rustblade Pavilion Bell, while following the cliffside path. After a short climb, you will be able to spot a set of crates off to the side. You have to be careful here, as enemies will jump out of them as you approach.

Take this group down, and one of them will drop the Sha-Chi Amber Fragment. This is also practically unmissable, as it sits on the main story route after the Jagged Steel fight.
Outpost Fragment

I found this fragment hunt to be a tricky one, as you need the Dread Axe Phantom Edge for this. You can get the weapon by defeating Peng Meng the Axemaster. That said, he is a main story boss, so you won’t miss the weapon by accident.

Once you have the axe, you can fast travel to the Outpost Bell. You will find a chain wall just north of the bell. Break it with the Dread Axe once you see it. Head into the new section and clear the enemies inside. The last enemy will drop you the fragment.
Long Pillar Overlook Fragment

Hunting for this fragment took a little bit of setup. You have to first finish the “Deep in the Valley” side quest so you can open the Sha-Chi Tower Base Camp Gate in the area with the key from the top of the tower. You will also need the Hunter’s Chain Sickle from “The Hunt”. Once you are in Creek Valley Plains, go to the Long Pillar Overlook Bell, which is inside the house by the bridge. The gold chest right behind the bell will give you the Rusted Loong Key.

After that, I found myself crossing the wooden bridge from there while sticking to the right-hand path. You will also have to wall-run over a small gap, so be wary. Then, just keep going until you spot a metal door set into the rock face. Here, you have to use the Rusted Loong Key on the door, then head inside the tunnel.

You will find enemies here, so be careful. The Transcended enemy in this area gave me a tough time in particular. One of these enemies will drop the final Sha-Chi Amber Fragment. If you keep going through the cave, you will also reach the first Long Pillar.
How to Use the Sha-Chi Fragments in Phantom Blade Zero
Collect all four of them to form one full Sha-Chi Amber, which increases your Sha-Chi gauge in Phantom Blade Zero. You can spend it at any nearby Bell to start unlocking the middle skill-tree row, and the permanent 10% Sha-Chi bump will make both blocking and skill use feel a lot less tight when fighting tougher enemies. I found this upgrade particularly good for the fights in the later game.
The good news is that none of these items are missable, so you can always come back to the Weeping Creek Valley once you have the Dread Axe or the Rusted Loong Key.
