Imu Sama or ImuSama and his/her identity is currently one of the biggest mysteries in the One Piece world. Introduced as a mysterious, cloaked, and hooded figure, this being is rumored to be the final villain of the narrative itself, as the one presiding over the Gorosei.
With One Piece chapter 1084, the enigmatic figure made a reappearance in the story, talking to Cobra, the father of Nefertari Vivi. Their conversation shed light on or at least partially hinted at several factors that had been on the series’ fans’ minds for a long time. In fact, with these recent chapters, fans have a general idea of what to expect from the series.
Imu-sama’s possible identity in One Piece continues feeding into fan theories
What if imu Sama was actually an artificial intelligence that went rogue 800 years ago and ate a devil fruit based on molecules???? Imu or umi in scientific terms is called unique molecular identifiers… pic.twitter.com/PzcvDnYhVP

There are several major theories that have gained traction within the One Piece community. In fact, while the role is often attributed to Crocodile (after a possible gender-bending by Ivankiv), it is believed that Imu-sama is the mother of Luffy.
Absentee parents are a staple of shonen anime, and this theory seems to check out. Whether it be characters who have been absent from the anime till date such as Deku’s dad in My Hero Academia or confirmed to have passed on like Naruto’s parents, these characters often feed into fan theories for the most part. As such, fans often think that Imu-sama is actually Luffy’s mother.
Another theory ascribes Imu-sama is an alien. With Enel going into space and the cover story showcasing aliens, this is considered another potential theory. The notion of space-faring pirates or the story eventually going there is one of the crazier speculations out there. However, if Oda does manage to take us there, Imu-sama becoming an alien would not be surprising.

In such a case, Oda would definitely be taking the Kishimoto route by having his final villain being an extraterrestrial figure who entered the story all of a sudden as the final boss. The alien theory does not hold much gravity because of the current state of the story, which leads us to another idea: Imu-sama is an ancient weapon.
Compared to the last two, this one certainly seems more plausible. One Piece fans have proposed a fan theory that suggests Imu-sama is the legendary weapon Uranus. Aside from the true identity of Lord Imu, the Void Century is the biggest enigma in One Piece. The World Government and the Marines are responsible for keeping it a secret. The World Government forbids research into The Void Century, a century-long void in written and archaeological records.
The events of the Void Century are said to have been of the greatest importance, and by knowing about them, one is believed to have a true understanding of world history. Three ancient weapons, among other things, are supposed to have had heavenly power during the Void Century. Shirahoshi, a princess of the Ryugu Kingdom and the daughter of King Neptune, is depicted in the manga and anime as the weapon Poseidon. It is also conceivable that Uranus, an ancient weapon, is a living being. Fans believe Imu to be the legendary sword Uranus as a result.
Now it make so much sense imu design came from queen of Ancient Egyptian n we know when cobra mentions lily she was queen arab asta , cuz arabasta is like Middle East oda really did it again 🔥🔥

After Lord Imu’s demonstration of his destroying abilities in the manga, where he entirely destroyed an island, this fan notion gained some credence. One fan theory even argues that Rocks managed to survive the conflict of the God Valley Incident and finally acquired an ultimate power that allowed him to fulfil his desire to rule the entire planet.
It is also believed that he created the identity of Lord Imu and adopted an alias in order to bring his fantasy to life. Even though Oda has previously revealed some details about Rocks and his crew, not much is still known about him. Following his defeat in the God Valley tragedy, his legend began. To dominate the entire globe, Rocks travelled to God Valley, an island somewhere in the universe that was home to heavenly dragons that Rocks fought in battle against.
Oda stated that Rocks was one of the most notorious pirates in history. With future Yonkos like Whitebeard, Big Mom, Kaido, and some other well-known pirates like Shiki the Golden Lion as members, Rocks’ crew, who assaulted the God Valley, was among the world’s most formidable pirate bands. In fact, what if the most notorious pirate, aka Rocks, that needed both the Pirate King and the Hero of the Marines to be subdued were to become the ultimate leader of the World Government? Imu-sama would then be two faces of oppression – that of absolute anarchy and totalitarian exploitation.
Nah. Imu sama is somebody else who got their soul switched into Lili's body by the former op op fruit user (+imortalized) so they can use Uranus, which can only be used by Lili.
They is now afraid if Vivi is able to controll it too. pic.twitter.com/eSodyAUQKh— Klaus D. Störtebeker (@blustortebecker) May 25, 2023
While the idea of Xebec and Imu being the same person is a beloved fan theory and could easily still be true, recent developments have added another idea to the mix. Imu-sama’s identity may have something to do with the Nefertari Family, or more specifically, Queen Lili, according to One Piece chapter 1084. Finally, Nefertari Cobra and Gorosei’s dialogue is revealed in One Piece chapter 1084. Cobra begins by describing the formation of the World Government and its twenty allied nations. Additionally, he provides the name of the monarch of Alabasta at the time, Queen Lili of the Nefertari House. She is the only ruler who resisted being forced to give up her Kingdom.
Because of this, the Nefertari Family still holds power in Arabasta. Gorosei are perplexed by this and inquire as to the king’s genuine motivations for expressing all of it. Nefertari Cobra continues by describing how he has searched through every ancient literature in his kingdom but has been unable to locate anything about Lili, as if her name has been completely forgotten. Oda also confirms the widely held belief that Imuis an immortal.
After asking about the significance of “D,” Nefertari Cobra notices a shadowy figure approaching the Empty Throne and settling down on it. The Arabasta King hears Imu-sama speaking the name Lili as he sees his conception of the entire world disintegrating in front of him. Imu-sama’s relationship to Queen Lili is still a mystery. In chapter 906, Imu-sama is also seen destroying Shirahoshi, Luffy, and Blackbeard’s portraits and bounty items. The sole image that the enigmatic world ruler spared was one of Vivi Nefertari, it goes on to speculate that perhaps Imu-sama might be Vivi’s mother.
