Bandai Namco is reportedly working on Jump Stars Ultimax, a completely new title in their popular Jumpverse series. Although the developer hasn’t made any official announcements regarding this game, rumors and leaks about the title keep cropping up from time to time.
According to a leaked trailer (that was removed from the internet soon after it was uploaded), Jump Stars Ultimax is not going to be a sequel to 2019’s Jump Force. Rather, the upcoming project features striking visual similarities to the Ultimate Ninja Storm games, and is said to be an arena fighter title.
Jump Stars Ultimax might release in 2024
According to leakers, Jump Stars Ultimax is expected to release in 2024 for PS4, PS5, PC, and Nintendo Switch. The 2024 release window is supported by many, considering that the last game in the series was released in 2019 and there have always been five-year gaps between these games.
Some insiders have also predicted that the title will be released for Xbox Series X|S in addition to the platforms mentioned above.

Jump Stars Ultimax rumored to be developed by CyberConnect2
Various sources have hinted towards a change of developers for the Jump Stars Ultimax. According to them, this Bandai Namco-published title will not be developed by Spike Chunsoft, the developer of 2019’s Jump Force. Instead, the game will be developed by CyberConnect2 (CC2) – the creator of the massively popular Ultimate Ninja Storm series.
Many fans are happy about this decision, as CC2 is hailed as one of the best arena fighter developers. This also points towards the exciting possibility of Jump Stars Ultimax gaining some elements from the Ninja Storm series. Fans of the arena fighter genre have always appreciated and lauded the animation style and gameplay experience of the Ultimate Ninja Storm series.
