Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced rewards players who take the time to explore the world, even if it is with just an achievement/trophy sometimes. Since it is a game about pirates, the obvious Pirates of The Caribbean reference at some point is bound to be there. This time, it comes in the form of an achievement – The Davy Jones’ Locker. It is a hat tip to the infamous octopus-faced antagonist, and his possessiveness to his chest. In this guide, I will take a look at the easiest way to get this achievement.
How to Get Davy Jones’ Locker in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced

You must swim to the lowest point in the entire game to unlock this trophy. But first, make sure you have completed the main quest called “Diving For Medicines”. During the quest, you can either buy a diving bell from the harbor master for 5000 reales, or steal it from other pirates in Nassau. The diving bell unlocks underwater exploration sites, which often have their own set of chests and secrets (this one in Anotto Bay, for example).

To get to the lowest point in the game however, you must head to the Black Trench at the coordinates 184,425. It is located in Castillo De Jagua region, eastern most section of the world map. Once here, interact with the shipwreck to drop your diving bell and start the search. As soon as you are underwater, you will spot the way ahead split two ways. There is also a shark roaming around that you need to be careful of.

Take the “path” to the left near the wrecked ships, and start going forward. Make sure to properly time your lunges so you can cover more distance with more speed and reserve your breath for later. We also recommend looting any chests you come across here, since one of it contains a great mid game cutlass called Espada Ancha. Follow the wrecked ships until you come across a “cliff” from where you can go even deeper down into a trench.

At this point, there is good possibility that you find the shark swimming near you. Fortunately, there is also an air barrel there that you can use to hide and replenish your breath. Once fully replenished, dive into the trench and start heading west. It might initially seem that you are swimming into darkness, but you will start seeing rocks and weed shortly after.

At the western end of this trench, you will find an abandoned diving bell with a skeleton crushed under it. The bell marks the lowest point in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced. Go ahead and touch the bell and the achievement should pop up.
Note: A lot of people in the community are currently reporting this achievement to be bugged, so until Ubisoft patches it, here are a few workarounds that did it for me and some other players.
- Swim around the bell until the achievement pops
- Bump into the skeleton
- Fully complete Black Trench and begin another underwater shipwreck.
- On PC, if the achievement pops in Ubisoft Launcher, it is enough; Steam picks it up automatically later.
