In Aion 2, gathering the required resources for crafting and upgrading your gear will take up a major chunk of your time later in the game. At some point, you will find your gathering skills have stalled, rendering you unable to progress further. After hitting Novice Level 50, you will be offered a unique quest that will help expand your gathering skills further.
For the quest, you need to gather Splendent Rubies and hand them over to certain vendors. Splendent Rubies won’t be marked on the overworld map, and depending on your faction, you will have selected areas to farm them from.
If you wish to gather a handful of Splendent Ruby for the quest quickly, then here are some of the best locations to look for them, as well as an explanation of how to successfully extract them, and where to turn them in.
How to Farm Splendent Ruby in Aion 2
Splendent Ruby spawns in Aion 2 will vary depending on your faction. Players in the Asmodian faction will find Splendent Ruby quarries around Calderon Canyon and Quai Campsite. I recommend starting from the Safe Haven and heading down south to find your first quarry; it is right near the Dredgion Crash Site. Look around for a crashed ship near the mountain to spot a couple of ruby nodes. I would also recommend checking around Silent Hill and Nameless Cemetery if the above areas are overtaken by other players.
As for the Elyos faction, you will find Splendent Ruby nodes around Verteron Fortress Ruins in Aion 2. If you haven’t reached this location yet, you can get here by traveling southeast from your starting base. Make your way as close to the boundary wall as possible to find the nodes near the outer edges of the fort. You would have an easier time trying to find them while in flight, so I suggest flying over while exploring your respective faction maps to find the nodes quickly.
Splendent Ruby is mostly extracted from regular ruby nodes, and the chance to obtain Splendent Ruby (Bound) is random.

How to Extract Splendent Ruby
To spot Splendent Ruby nodes in Aion 2, look around for regular Ruby nodes that resemble giant orange-hued crystals sticking straight up from the ground. You can’t miss them; they are very visible during ground and sky exploration. Once you find the node, step up to it and press the interact button to start the extraction process. You don’t require any special tools for this, and once you hit character level 10, you can start extracting any node you find.
While extracting, you will notice two meters appear on your screen. These two meters indicate the Success and Failure rate of your extraction. You will also notice a Novice Level mentioned above the two meters. The more successful extractions you do, the higher your Novice Level gets. Upon reaching level 50, you will be required to extract Splendent Ruby as part of an extraction quest.
You can continue the extraction process on a node repeatedly until you get a notification that the node has been depleted. If you fail the extraction, the node will disappear, so you need to retry on another node. Nodes that appear on the map are shared between all players, so if you find no available nodes, it could be that another player has obtained them before you. Luckily, they do respawn in the same place after a while, so wait around until they reappear.
How to Use Splendent Ruby
After extracting Splendent Ruby, head back to your faction base and either speak to Korius at the Dawn Legion Base or Alzirr at the Safe Haven Base. You can then turn in your collected Splendent Ruby for the “[Upgrade] Essence Extraction Specialty Skill” quest. With this, your gathering rank cap will be lifted, and you can change your title from Novice to Professional to add more extraction levels and gather rarer resources.
