Many secrets in Alabaster Dawn are waiting to be found, as they are well hidden away via story missions, or in a few cases, just simply in plain sight. We have covered other secret areas in the first chapter of the game. Fulcrum Mark Key unlocks another secret spot with a surprise boss and a brand new Artifact item in the game. Alabaster Dawn – Getting the Fulcrum Mark Key
You get the Fulcrum Mark Key as part of the Rebuild From Ruins questline. After completing the mission Freeing Sundalan, the next objective will be updated to Rebuild from Ruins. It is a primary objective containing many smaller main objectives; the very first of which is Wheat Field Wac-A-Mole.
Wheat Field Wac-A-Mole is a small wheat farm located at Aurum Plains – North Bend, inside Old Farm. From the South Entrance Waysprout fast travel point, head south to get to Old Farm. Here, kill all the enemies in the zone, and you will get tasked to kill other sets of enemies hiding inside the ground. Just use the hammer strikes to pop the monsters off the ground to defeat them. After clearing the farm of the enemies, you will get the Fulcrum Mark as a reward. We will get a clue of using the Fulcrum Mark key somewhere on the map, but we will not get a definite answer for the key location.
Alabaster Dawn – Using the Fulcrum Mark Key
When I was exploring collectibles in Chapter 1, I came across this specific area, east of Reaver’s End. I travelled to the Waysprout (Koro Valley – Lakeside), near the Reaver’s End. From the travel point, head south and then move to the right, and you will find a circular architecture blocking the path on the right. Interact with the machine and insert the Fulcrum Mark key to remove the barricade.
Once it’s removed, you can take the open route to the right, and you will unlock a new area, “Eternal Spring,” with a brand new side quest, “Temple Incursion.”
Be prepared, as you will see many puzzles and villains waiting for you deeper down the temple. Think of it as another version of the Hall of Trials we faced before, at the end of the first chapter in Alabaster Dawn. There are also collectibles hidden inside the Eternal Spring that require a bit of legwork to obtain. Complete the puzzles and beat the final boss, and you will obtain Treasure’s Sense Artifact.
