Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced has a host of collectibles in the form of treasure chests, outfits, Ultimate Plans, portraits, and paintings to collect. Most of these will be conveniently marked on the map; however, for a few of these, while the location will be visible, the way to get there may not always be so clear. This is true especially for a treasure chest/secret in the Grand Cayman island, where you can even see the chest, but no clear way to reach it.
If you are looking for getting that coveted 100% completion on the game, or just have that itch to not leave this specific chest unlooted, here is the way to get to the Grand Cayman Treasure Chest in AC Black Flag Resynced.
Grand Cayman Treasure Chest – How to reach

You need to get to the nearby tavern and get drunk to be automatically transported right beside the chest. Yes, this is a proper curveball by the devs – since until now, there has been no such roundabout way required to access a treasure chest. Sure, some of these that are in caves may have had you searching for the entrance underwater, or some may have you eavesdrop on a conversation (like the Nassau warehouse) to get an update on the next steps, but, none, have had you require to get drunk
The clue, however, here also lies in listening. When you glance at the treasure chest, you will also see a couple having a go at each other, where one then mentions about regretting having ever married a drunkard. After this, Edward himself remarks – I’d like to try whatever he’s drinking. And that, is your clue. The conversation (or the argument, rather) continues, where the guy defends himself saying that he had just 5 drinks, and that they must be putting something in the ale at the tavern. Which, is your second clue – on the number of drinks that you need to have.
Make your way to the nearby tavern (362, 301), get your 5 drinks (that will set you back by 125 Reales), and you will wake up next hidden in the foliage next to the treasure chest, free to loot it.
And with that, you have ticked off 1 more secret in this open-world pirate-adventure remake. This short quest almost looks like a nod to similar stories that you had by the bucketloads in AC Valhalla, as does the animation when you get drunk – like in the drinking games you had in Valhalla!
