The combat in Beast of Reincarnation can be unforgiving at times, especially during the boss fights. Compared to previous bosses such as Rangifer or Lacerta, this boss fight is a bit different. The most different aspect of this fight is to go against two bosses at the same time.
In this guide, I will give you the details of everything you need to set up for the fight, the movesets to defend and the movesets to attack, as well as the recommended build setup to take on the Male Purifier and Nue Malefact bosses in Beast of Reincarnation.

All Male Purifier & Nue Malefact Boss Attacks
Both move differently; Nue is strong, and all the attacks here are heavy and charged. While the Male Purifier may not be as strong as Nue, he is extremely agile. I recommend going for the Male Purifier first; and then take on the beast. This is because if you go for Nue Malefact first, you will have a hard time landing any proper shot, as the Purifier will always be on your tail, ready to strike you down with his combo melee strikes.
All Male Purifier Attacks
Now we focus on Male Purifier; I’m going to refer to him as Purifier for this section. I highly advise you to save your range ammo for later in the boss fight and face him using melee strikes. Here are the details about Purifier’s attacks and what to do when you come face to face with them.
Sword Slashes

It’s one of the Purifier’s most common attacks, but it hits fast and hard. The best way to handle this move is to parry. This attack has a pretty obvious visual cue, thankfully. Once the Purifier begins unsheathing his sword by moving his right hand to his left and slowly bending over, it’s time to face the attack.
Tentacle Hand

The Purifier will pull out the tentacle from his sleeve to perform rapid swings. And just like the sword combo, this one can also be parried. This blight attack has a two-combo, so make sure to parry 2 hits before following with anything offensive.
Lunge Attack

Here, the purifier will summon a pillar of blight off the ground to launch himself into the air and then perform a leap at your current location. The best course of action to deal with this lunge is to simply move out of the way. If you try attacking him during this lunge phase, you will not be able to do any damage to him. So ignore anything offensive you have in mind; just simply perform a dodge, and after he lands, you can hit him with the melee strikes.
HP Steal

Purifier will get close to Nue and extend his hand-tentacle to steal HP from Nue Malefact. Quickly shoot at Male Purifier either with your bow or crossbow to cancel the HP stealing and stun him for the melee strike opening.
Tip: Conserve your ranged ammo for this move against Purifier, since he will move far away from your location to steal HP from the beast. By the time you make it over, he would’ve restored some of its HP. Stick to the ranged weapon as the best offense for this move.
Besides being agile, Purifier can be a bit tough to handle, as he will be able to parry your attacks. As you can guess, he will always follow the parries with a counterattack. Here, it would be best to use Koo’s skills, either Bind or Shock, against the Purifier to stop him from following up with the attack after parrying. The saving grace of this boss is the parryable attacks; we can parry almost all the attacks besides the Lunge.
All Nue Malefact Attacks
Nue Malefact has fewer moves compared to the Purifier, but they will easily catch you off guard, since we are dual-bossing both at the same time. After defeating Male Purifier, you can focus on the bigger, slower fish in the arena, Nue Malefact.
Claw Attack

Nue will swing its claw 5 times before ending it with an AOE slam. While you can parry almost all claw combos from Nue, right at the end, it’s better to move out of the way before the slam hits the ground. This attack can easily catch you off guard since Nue likes to perform this attack directly after the lunge attack. Once you dodge the lunge, be ready to parry the claw attacks without taking a breather.
Note: If you are struggling to parry the swipes, then you can rely on Entanglement Overdrive to interrupt the attack.
Lunge Attack

Just like Purfier, Nue also has a lunge move that is not parriable; you also need to dodge to negate all the damage from this attack. This attack also has a second phase, where Nue will start glowing red and then perform a common lunge. But things will escalate quickly, as Nue will then follow up the lunge with a quick 360 tail spin twice back to back. During the second tail spin, Nue will summon a barrage of lightning strikes covering a wide area. You need to dodge all of them before thinking about attacking with your melee weapon.
Nue’s attacks are deadly; claw swipes are the best way to parry the attack for any follow-up damage. Another one includes waiting for the beast to lunge, then you can attack him, but keep in mind sometimes the beast will easily transition to claw swipes after performing the lunge.
Tips for Beating Male Purifier and Nue Malefact
- Rely on poison damage from Douzeri: Fang, since both bosses are weak against poison element.
- Male Purifier can be shocked and bound to leave in a stagger state for more damage.
- Always have the Nue Malefact in view, so you will be ready for any attacks on the side. Nue can lunge and perform lightning strikes while you are facing the Purifier.
- When the Purifier starts absorbing the HP from Nue, shoot him as quickly as possible. This will stagger both Male Purifier and Nue Malefact.
- I recommend using melee strikes for the Male Purifier and ranged for the Nue Malefact.
